About 1 year ago as I was driving along interstate 95 the instrument needles all went to 0 or far left then went back to normal immediately. As time went on this occurred more frequently. About six months later as I was driving at night the needles dropped off and the head lights went off and stayed off until I switched from the auto position to the manual on position. The next time it happened I was at a stop light and the car cut off in the middle of the road. I called a police officer because I thought I might get rear-ended. After about 5 minutes the car started but ran rough. Just this past weekend while driving at night in a parking lot the needles dropped off, the headlights went out, and the brakes malfunctioned.

The problem started when I bought it brand new and kept bringing back to the dealer. Failure to find problem. Notice a lot of other customers having the same problem. Brought car to an expert and found the suspension which includes shocks, struts, brakes etc. Were not the right part for this model. Expert changed necessary parts and have not had a problem there after. Expert did research and dealer wanted to know what he did to fix it and he would not comply. They should do the research and fix the problem. I hope everyone files a complaint and I would tell Dodge they fix it or I will file a defect lawsuit for complete refund of a $42,000 car plus inconvenience.

The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Charger. The contact stated the brake pressure on the brake release made a grinding sound. The contact stated the column shift locked and the vehicle was unable to shift out of park. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and was told the NHTSA recall campaign in number: 06V149000 (service brakes, hydraulic) and NHTSA campaign id number: 08V583000 (powertrain: Automatic transmission: Lever and linkage: Column shift), were related to the failure but the vehicle was not included in either recall. The VIN was unavailable. The failure and current mileage was 56,000.

Disk brake noise. I have had this car since it was new, and have had frequent problems with the brakes, mostly inb the front axel. The dealer replaced the front rotors and pads at least 2 times I believe, and recently a few months ago, I changed the front pads again to try to get rid of the squealing noise. I have purchased oem brakes and rotors from the dealer, and last time I replaced them, I used a brand from a local auto parts store. It seems that I the brakes stay quiet for a little while after they have been cleaned and services, but soon start returning to making a horrible squealing noise anytime the brakes are used. After several trips for this at two different dealers, and reading up on the manufactures web forums, it looks like this has been happening to a lot more people than just me. I feel there must be a design or manufacturing issue that needs to be addressed to correct this type of chronic problem.

I have a Dodge Charger rt 06. I took it to the dealership a year ago to replace a part on the front end. There was a noise coming from the front end. Now recently, I almost got into an accident because brakes almost didn't stop me in time and I wasn't speeding. Before all of this, when I speed up, the front end and steering wheel shakes or wobbles and this has me worried. If by chance I encounter bad weather, because I do live in Michigan, I hope something on the Charger doesn't fail when I need it the most. To of my friends have also experience problems with 300 C's and Chargers.

Charget R/T 5.7 L: starting at about 30,000 mi --severe (very scary) vibration and shake in front end and in steering wheel when braking at highway speeds. Does not occur at low speeds. Inspection of rotors/pads show no problems. Based on my research I believe to be a suspension defect.

Brakes have locked up X3. Vehicle almost skidded into the back of another vehicle @ 40mph. Afraid to drive vehicle. Had it checked out by dealership & repair shop, nothing wrong. Repair shop did note brake squeak and vehicle shaking even at low mph during test drive- he had just put new rotor and brake pads less than 3mnths ago! vehicle also has a noticeable 'kick' or 'jarring' when driving- even at 5-10mph in parking lot when accelerator pedal is not even pressed. I am very afraid to drive this car especially w/my child. This is my only vehicle and as a single mother and educator -safety, security, and reliability is important.

I have taken my car to the dealership 5 times to have issues fixed. Each time I got the car back, it was worse. I had 13 issues originally with the car. I ended up suing, and got a very small settlement- Dodge refused to cooperate. I still have each and every problem, and do not know what else to do. My car dies while in reverse, the brakes malfunction constantly, the window panel remains broken due to their inept work, the radio cuts off, the dash lights die @ night, etc. I would truly appreciate it if someone could actually help me. I do not know what else to do. I love my car dearly, but something needs to be done. The date I put as date of incident is when this all started.

  • 12,500 miles
At 12,500 miles took vehicle to Dodge dealer complaining of the front brakes squealing. They told me the rotors were warped, probably from going though a puddle when they were hot, which I had not done. I had to pay to have the rotors turned. Still squealed. Ended up having to buy new rotors and pads for front. Now, the rear squeal so bad I am embarrassed to drive it. Will end up having to replace the rear brakes.

Charger 8-cyl

  • 17,000 miles
Brakes: The Charger R/T brakes only have 17K miles on them and the rotors need to be replaced. I complained to the dealer at 11K but was told that the shaking was normal. The dealers know about this problem with the rotors warping and refuse to extend the warranty past 12K miles.

Repeated warping and squealing coming from brakes. Dealership turns the rotors to "fix" the issue till it is out of original 12,000 mile warranty for brakes. They will then no longer correct the issue without payment. There is no permanent fix.

Squeaky brakes on my 06 Dodge Charger since I had 9,000 miles on the car. Nobody will do anything (service dept.'s and Chrysler-daimler) saying it's not an issue yet they see fit to upgrade to slotted brakes on all the 07 models.

After purchasing my 2006 Dodge Charger in April of 2006 I immediately had a problem with a squeaking from the front brakes. When taking the car in for service I was repeatedly told it was brake dust and it would go away when washing. The noise has never gone away and has continued to get worse now that I have over 20,000 miles on them.
