Charger Rallie 3.2L L 6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 35,000 miles

A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

Car has only 35000 miles and alternator is shot. Dealer says new one is back ordered, what does that tell you, and I have a 7 to 10 day wait . I had the same things happen as the other guy, esc, anti lock, battery lights came on. Then in the display it says it went into battery saver mode and started shutting down the radio etc, It even shut down the power steering. And with all this going on they had the balls to charge me $36, for a blown fuse Ain't liking my Dodge right now.

Charger SE 3.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 47,800 miles

The alternator in my 2011 Dodge Charger failed at approx. 47000 miles. I was driving along when "Battery Saver Mode" appeared in the EVIC. Shortly thereafter the radio went off, the dashboard lights flashed, and the car started powering down, but I was able to pull into a parking lot before it died. Technician said that the alternator shorted out, and therefore my battery was also ruined. I had to pay 300 dollars out of pocket WITH an extended warranty. (100-deductible; 155-battery, plus tax). There is something wrong with the electrical systems in these cars; I also had the headlight problem that has been mentioned by other members.

Update from Nov 16, 2014: Alternator went out AGAIN at 75500 miles. Glad to see that there is a recall coming, but for right now I paid for the repair. Thank goodness for the extended warranty.

Charger V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 72,000 miles

I will never get another dodge. my 2011 charger has had so many recalls that cost me to get rental cars. then my headlight harness burnt off -another rental that was around 300 bucks. then the alternator went out. it was 800 but they helped so I was out of 236. wow but what's next? is the car going to catch on fire? I called dodge they don't seem too concerned. their customer service sucks.
