The number 6 piston is misfiring and causing the car to jerk. The part in other 2013 Chargers has been recalled, mine is having the same issue, but not on recall list. It happens when car is stationary the most, but does happen when driving too. It happens on city streets and on highways.
I brought this 2013 Dodge Charger with 86,000 miles used in 10/20/2016 from South Chicago Dodge and when I got it, the car used to jerk when accelerating and I took it back to the dealer and told them about the car problem that I had. 1st time they had fix the transmission, 2nd, time the had put a new transmission in and now 2018 its having the same problem, its just somthing with this transmission or wut ever its connected to keeps burning out or keeps damaging the transmission. While driving my 2013 Dodge Charger daytona at 60mph the vehicle just stopped working. The power just failed, I had no break or steering and just had to pray no one pulled out in front of me or I would have hit them. I have been researching this since my dealership says their is no open recall but there are literally hundreds of complaints of the same problem all over different websites. This is scary and very dangerous since people typically drive very fast in these vehicles! I could've been killed or killed someone else! not to mention that waiting for the tow truck I couldn't even move the car or have any hazards on.
Hello my 2013 Dodge Charger 3.6 while I was driving the vehicle has just shut down with no warnings and I had to get it towed to a Dodge shop U waited on my vehicle for days and they said it was a blown fuse but I'm in the technology field and it seems to me that someone has access or remotely access to my vehicle now I have issues with my fuel which I'm getting 10 miles a gallon, and my vehicle is getting to a point to wear I have to pull over because it's getting overheated something is seriously wrong and I feel unsafe anytime your vehicle shuts off where you don't have control of it it's a hazard to everyone my uconnect radio ask for a anti theft code but it was before I took it to auto nation Dodge it really needs to be looked at I've parked the vehicle it has 67000 miles and I just bought it in October of last year also the windows roll down by there selfs the vehicle was going about 45 mph on city hwy and the dealership never had it smoked before they sold it to
The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Charger. While driving 10 mph, the contact heard a whining noise and the ABS, traction, and battery saver indicators illuminated. The contact stated that he was able to drive the vehicle home at a slow rate of speed. While pulling into the driveway, the contact noticed smoke coming from the front of the vehicle. The contact parked, exited the vehicle, opened the hood, and saw smoke. The vehicle was not taken to an independent mechanic or dealer for diagnostic testing or repairs. The contact called the dealer (larry H. miller Dodge Ram havana, 2727 S havana St, denver, co 80014 (720) 907-1243) to inquire about an alternator recall because his previous Dodge Charger was included in a recall for the alternator. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 40,900.
The alternator diodes experienced a rapid failure resulting in a complete shutdown while driving on a city street at 50mph. Low battery indicator light came on and within 1-2 minutes lost all car functions including antilock breaking, electronic stability control, and power steering. Upon coming to a complete stop, could not put the car in park. Car eventually reset and put itself in park. Experienced a burning/melting smell. Had car battery jumped and car appeared fine. Resumed driving, but experienced a complete repeat of events within just a few minutes. Had car towed to dealership for repair. This appears to be the same problem as stated in recall P60/ NHTSA 14V-634. Upon researching on the web, it is obvious that many others with the 180amp engine are experiencing the same issue; however, it is unclear as to why the recall was only for the 160amp. I can only presume that it is because there are less of the 180amp engines sold. This is an extremely dangerous situation!
Alternator suddenly failed when driving on the street. Car suddenly stopped running and started smoking while driving. Almost got in an accident while trying pull off the road. Battery replacing light came on, 30 seconds later car was making sounds, while trying to merge over, car suddenly died. Lifted hood, smoke came out. Towed car to dealership, they stated it was a failed alternator. 2013 SXT Dodge Charger 50,200 miles.
Vehicle had a multi-system failure while driving away from a parking lot. Engine did not stall at first. Initially the steering became hard from power steering loss, "service AWD" light came on, "service power steering" light was next, followed by brake system failure. Car was still a little driveable and then it stalled as I was stopping. This vehicle is very dangerous. Vehicle would not restart even though the button start system was telling me to step on the brake and push start. Waited 3 hours for a capable tow truck (due to the AWD). During the wait, the car's instrument panel would come alive, the panel gauges would swipe one time and various noises could be heard as if the car was starting but nothing was going on. This car is extremely dangerous.

When accelerating, the car lunges forward instead of speeding up smoothly like other vehicles. Seems to always occur at between the 1000 and 2000 RPM range. Has happened regularly since purchasing car
