Bolts the attach the emergency brake cable assembly to the frame undercarriage can become rusted and corroded and can pop out which causes the emergency brake to not function correctly which results in transmission damage, shifting while towing, shifting while vehicle jacked up, and possible parked incline vehicle roll especially if car is not able to shift into park during an emergency.

I purchased 2016 Dodge Charger one month ago from California auto direct in montclair. While signing the paperwork, we questioned a $1,000 dealer charge which they explained was for a thorough inspection before putting their car on the lot to sell (all lies). Since I purchased the car on 3/7/20, the car has stalled on me while driving 3 times. I took the car to a "Dodge" dealer and they fixed a recall, oil leak and replaced a missing caliper, old battery. After completing all the repairs, the car stalled on me again. Each time the steering and brakes locked up. The dealership found no codes as to why the car just stops while driving. This car is a safety hazard. I contacted Dodge.com online chat and they told me to let the dealer try and work on it and use their resources. Unfortunately, they can't find anything. I read about recalls on other Dodge Chargers and challengers that had similar problems, unfortunately not M year... 2016.

The contact owns a 2016 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that when the brake pedal was engaged, the brakes made a squeaking noise and the vehicle jerked. The contact also noticed that the rotors and brake pads were abnormally covered in black dust. The vehicle was taken to West herr Dodge (3551 southwestern boulevard, orchard park, New York, 14127, (716)-235-2960) numerous times regarding the brake failure. The dealer test drove the vehicle and found that the brakes emitted a squeaking noise. The dealer cleaned the brakes and replaced the rear brakes and rotors; however, the repair did not correct the squeaking and jerking failures. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who replaced the front brakes and rotors; however, the repair did not correct the brake failure. The manufacturer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 14,127.
