Wife (70yo) was driving our grandson home from school (going about 35mph) when the passenger side head rest popped out. Our grandson was not injured. When I looked at the head rest the plastic ears that hold a pin were broken and the head rest could not be locked back in place. We are both in our early 70s and are concerned that the drivers side may do the same and who knows how much brain rattling a 70yo can take. She said the head rest popped out fast and hard. Our grandson was leaning slightly forward reaching in his backpack at the time so his head was not in contact with the head rest but it did touch the back of his head.

After searching the web for Durango head rest problems (other Dodge vehicles also showed up) it is obvious that Dodge could give a crap about death and injuries as long as they can sell their product. I don't want to hear that they are working on it or looking into it! Looks like it's been a problem since 2011 or possibly earlier. I know things that are mechanical can and do break but how many years should it take for a known problem to be fixed.

Chrysler should be having a recall at this point. I'm seeing so many post on the internet of this exact same problem and how the dealers aren't paying for the repair.
