The contact owns a 1996 Dodge Grand Caravan equipped with toyo spectrum tires size 215/65/R15 (na). The dot number was unknown. The contact stated that while driving under 5 mph, the steering wheel would wobble from side to side. The contact also stated that the tread was beginning to separate on all four tires and the rear passenger side tire was replaced once already. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, but refused to replace the other three tires. The failure mileage of the tires was 12,000. The failure mileage of the vehicle was 163,462. The VIN was unavailable.
On Jan 2, 2009 I bought 4 kenda tires (cooper tire) from a dealer in watsonville ca. First, I had a blowout on one. It was replaced. Then a second tire blew out on the highway. Close call. Hit tree, totaled vehicle, airbags off etc. I am holding the tire for your inspection if you wish...I have photos.
After market tire winston G/T, P215/65R15 size. Tread on three of four tires have started to separate from sidewall. Consumer states newly installed tires were cracking on the sidewalls, all 4 tires were replaced as a safety hazard.
We are not sure what is wrong with the van but the shimmy doesn't seem to be fixed by anything. We have had the tires replaced twice. We have had the transmission serviced. We have had the half shalfts looked at and they seem to be fine. I need help on deciding what to do next.

Air conditioning-dealer replaced compresser, condensor and evaporator, we purchased van in March and A/C never worked when the weather warmed up. Fuel pump failed and had to be replaced at a cost of $450. Tires went next at a cost of $350 for two front tires. Transmission is slipping and won't shift consistantly. Will cost $1500-$1800 to replace on a two year old van with 45000 miles.( dot number: M30D tire size: 21565R16 )
Front windshield wipers come on without activating them. In addition, bench passenger seatbelt disconnects when buckled; brakes wore out when the car had 32,000 miles; left front tire blew out on the freeway at 7,000; transmission overhauled at 44,000 miles; passenger's sliding door locks do not open when unlocked, and gas tank was leaking.
