The dash gauges band speedometer and mileage do not work. Fuel and temp gauges goes half way. This looks like a popular problem with Dodge. What is the cure for this problem.

Grand Caravan LX V6

  • Automatic transmission

I have loved this van, but it scares the dickens out of me because the problem happens out of the blue. Lights turn on and off, the radio goes on and off, the gauges go to zero and back up and down again, and the car bucks like a wild bull. The mechanic put in a new battery and checked the alternator. That did not fix the problem. He said it's probably in the electrical system and would take a while to find at $80 an hour. Battery acid spilled at one time, and we had to replace some of the wiring to the battery. Engine has been redone, and transmission has been overhauled. I'd love to drive it again.....but the "ghosts" need to leave!

Grand Caravan LX 3.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 130,000 miles

I spent $600 having the pcm and the fuse box replaced, but the fix was temporary and it kept not starting. Out of frustration, I hit the dashboard and it fixed. This led me to the cluster panel which had been replaced once before due to gauges quitting.

My electriacal keeps going out on my dodge caravan , and after vehicle sits for awhile and you go back out and start it up it will work again. It maybe weeks before it goes out then it will happen again.

I am affraid that i may get a ticket because my speeddometer quits working and my gas guage goes out as well.
