The problem with the power window control is intermittent, but is at times very annoying..

I bought a used Caravan and the owner told me his power locks had been pulsating from locked to unlocked for about a year. It doesn't do it constantly, but it also does it when the key is not in the ignition, which means I can't leave anything in the van because it unlocks itself. Any ideas on how to maybe reset this?
