Lower control arm on my 2000 Grand Caravan snapped off at 25mph. As a result of the broken bolt, the car came to a screeching halt in the middle of the road and the left front tire was at a 90 degree angle. I am in the stress testing business and I had the bolt visually analyzed by my engineers. They conclude the bolt had considerable fatigue. I am very concerned about this defect. I would have been killed if I was going faster. I have a meeting with Chrysler on Monday to discuss this situation and my options. I am very confused about what I should do and what my rights are. Can the NHTSA help me?
