I have a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan where the air bags:frontal:sensor/control module light is on. I have seen recently where there has been a recall on 2005-2006 Dodge Grand Caravan with the same problem. I have contacted Dodge (thru their web site) and never received acknowledgement of my complaint.

The contact owns a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan. In June of 2007, whenever the vehicle was started, the air bag light continually remained illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to his local mechanic for repair and was informed that the clock spring failed. In may of 2008, the air bag light began to continually illuminate again whenever the vehicle was started. The vehicle was repaired for a second at 47,000 miles. The clock spring is currently under recall for other models and the contact would like the recall to be expanded. The original failure mileage was 39,000 and current mileage was 47,000.

The contact owns a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan. While driving 10 mph, the passenger side air bag light illuminated. The failure occurred at both low and high speeds. The dealer stated that the air bag module failed and was not included in any recall. The contact paid for the repairs in February of 2006. The failure ceased for approximately two years, but the air bag light illuminated intermittently again in mid-March of 2008. The dealer stated that the vehicle needed a new passenger side air bag module. The vehicle has not yet been repaired. Through online research, she discovered a recall for the same failure, but a different vehicle year. The current mileage was 69,000 and failure mileage was 63,907.

Passenger side front airbag is nonoperational. Vehicle recalled in the past due to condensation buildup in the front dash area leading to electrical failure. I believe this condensation or faulty sensor may be leading to failure of the airbag component. I also drove this vehicle for 2 years in heavy salt while in upstate New York serving in the active duty army. I am currently stationed in Virginia.

Air bag light comes on randomly.airbag faulty. Dealer replaced them at cost $338. Should have been covered with only 44450 miles on 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan. Very dissappointed with this vehicle, always in shop. Engine 4 times, tie rod ends, brake calipers, air condition compressor locked up. Etc.

The SRS light appeared on the dashboard and remained on. Driver took the vehicle to the dealer for inspection, and mechanic claimed that this vehicle had low battery. Upon further questioning dealership diagnosed air bag indicator lamp and claimed fault was in air bag module. Upon further negotiations dealer and manufacturer decided to fix problem at their expense.

Airbag light comes on every time you turn the steering wheel. Dcx recalled 1996-2000 for the same defect, but it continued into 2002my (purchased in September 2001). Why did NHTSA allow dcx to only recall the 96 -2000 vehicles when the problem was not fixed unitl early 2002?

The air bag light went on/off intermittently. The van had 40K highway miles; this is just a few K miles shy of the warranty. After checking this website I see this is an on-going problem. What does it take to get a recall here? remember these vans are used to Transport children and an early or late failure of these air bags could be disasterous. My family will get the $200 back it cost to replace the "clockspring" but I hope it does not take a death or five.

1)air bag light comes on and off 2) failure can result in airbag not deploying properly 3)dealer (douglas county Dodge) wants to charge for repair. Research indicates that this has been a problem with Dodge since at least 1996.

Consumer complained about a ball joint problem. She took vehicle to repair shop about 20 times because it was making noises and squeaking while driving. Mechanic could not resolve the problem. The dealer replaced many components related to the front end noise. The air bag light was illuminated. The technician determined that there was an open circuit. The technician replaced the passenger side air bag. The driver's seat belt had internal damage which made it difficult to buckle and unbuckle the seat belt. The consumer stated that there was a noise coming from the left front wheel. The technician determined that the front pads were worn and the rotor were grooved. The technician replaced the front pads and resurfaced the rotors. The inner tie rod was loose and caused the steering to make noise. The technician replaced the gear assembly.

I purchased a new 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan on 4/17/02. Since then, this vehicle has been in the shop for multiple problems with the airbag light/seatbelt tensioners and malfunctioning automatic doors. This time the van was in the dealership for the airbag light again. Per the dealership the airbag module was replaced again and tensioner overlay harness completed as per star. The rear automatic door wouldn't open again, had already been reprogrammed and this time the liftgate latch was replaced. This vehicle is a safety hazard!!!!
