Vehicles headlights intermittently will not turn on. There have been multiple times when the lights worked fine when leaving the house and then would not turn on when leaving to return home. This has caused us to drive home on multiple occasion with no headlights, obviously a very dangerous situation. We have taken it to multiple mechanics and have not had anyone find a problem, they always seem to work when we take it in. We replaced the switch to no avail. We simply do not drive it when we think we will be out after dark. There seems to be a lot of other people with this same problem online, please make Dodge find and fix this problem.
The contact owns a 2004 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact was driving 15 mph when the smell of burned rubber emitted inside of the vehicle and flames were visible from under the hood. In addition, the head lights failed to illuminate intermittently. The vehicle was destroyed and the fire was extinguished. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but not repaired. The cause of the failure was unknown. The manufacturer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired and the VIN was unavailable. The failure and the current mileages were 121,000.
