Ohhh how I wish I knew about this site when this first occured. Water & debris gets trapped some where in the AC system, then when you turn it on in the summer it has a horrific horrible odor when you run the ac. I don't remember what the charge was for the flushing & deodorizing of the system but I know it was significant ~ $100. Was even more upset when it has recurred every summer since but now my husband takes care of it. I think he uses a compressor to flush the system. All of my cars since 1984 have had AC & I have never had this type of problem with any of them so I feel it is a defect in the system, the dealership tells me all AC's do this. Umm I don't think so!

My a/c smells awful when turned on and I took it to the dealer and all they did was spray a cleaner it the fresh air intake...worked for one week and then smell was back. They said just spray lysol in the vent to kill any mold. Mold is not what I want to spray on my children or anyone else in my van.

With this smell its hard to find the door locks since they stop working when they want to.
