I paid a lot of extra money for a remote controlled lift gate. The first summer the fascia warped and the door will not open manually or remotely unless I step on the fascia. I took my 2008 caravan to the dealer and they changed the fascia and it was fine until the next summer. I took it back and they said the 36k warranty expired, so I’m out of luck. I did finally find a self adhesive pad that allows the door to open ($3). It’s still warped but at least it opens.

The rubber/plastic strip along the top of the rear bumper warped and or wasn't secured properly out of the factory causing it to raise up enough to prevent the rear tailgate to open unless you pushed down the strip. Brought it in to dealership and then fixed it without issue.

The van was almost new when this problem happened along with the stereo dying and the mat holder pulling out of the floor. These things certainly didn't impress me but I still liked my van until all the new problems happened today. Today I found out I have an oil leak, a ball joint that is about to fall out, and a control arm that is also shot and I was told my van isn't really safe to drive and the parts are not in stock. The van now has 35 k and has only been driven by my wife and I, certainly not abused. The parts are paid for under warranty but I have to pay for an alignment after the new front end parts are replaced. This is the second Dodge van I've owned. Other than excessive rust and chronically failing sway bar links on my 99 it was a good van. This one looks like it is a lemon and if it continues it will be the last Chrysler product I own.
