This is not only a inconvenience but a safety issue, I have older ladies I give rides to and one of them have to crawl over to the driver's side seat because of the sliding drivers side won't open. I had a car accident one time in another vehicle and the passenger door locked and friend could not get out.

This is a very scary situation that can occur because the door will not open. I contacted Jim Baier Ford where I purchased the vehicle and service man said there were no recalls on this year and model of van.

The driver side sliding door will not unlock, either manually or electrically. So it cannot be opened. We drive with grandchildren fairly often so I think this should be considered a safety hazard. It seems that this is a common problem that may cost a $1000 or more to repair. It would be disappointing to have to put that kind of money into a vehicle this new. I have contacted FCA Canada and they aren't willing to do anything.
