At 19 thousand miles transmission was replaced due to a torque converter which need replacing. Also, at 42 thousand and 47 thousand miles transmission was rebuilt. There is a tsb dealing with same type of problem. Dealer has made repairs, and noted the problem was common.
While driving taxi to garage transmission would keep slipping, even on the streets. The vehicle caught on fire while in motion & vehicle stopped. Fire department extinguished the flames. Driver was informed location from engine after noticing smoke coming from under the hood.
While driving, transmission jerks.owner took vehicle to dealer, and transmission fluid was changed and filter was replaced. Problem was corrected. Owner also notes that torque converter is faulty.
