My name is [xxx] and my Ford Crown Victoria has a problem with the rear axle assembly the C-clip keeps falling off the axle shaft and I think this should be a recall I'm not sure how many other people experienced this problem but I am and the rear end is too expiencive to repair and I think this should be admitted to Ford because the axle shaft is faulty and the differential 3:55 is a bad concept on my car I don't speed or beat my car down or dog it out I drive the speed limit and use the car as supposed to and the other problem is the car has random misfires as well the problem I insist of complaining of can cause an accident or worse and I feel Ford should recall the car for this major problem please contact me if you can have something done about these problems. Vehicle is a police package Crown Victoria used for paramedic service. We began to notice the vehicle sway subtly with braking, acceleration, and road imperfections in Jan 1999. In March, the rear axle began to make a loud banging noise upon moderate acceleration from a stop. It was taken to chapman Lincoln-Mercury, baltimore pike, springfield, pa 19064 (610-544-0100), where the diagnosis of a loose/missing passenger side rear trailing arm was made. Apparently, a bolt had worked loose, and that side of the axle was basically held in place by the shock absorber and leaf spring. Obviously, this would adversely affect the high speed handling of the vehicle, or even cause the axle to break completely free, with potentially fatal implications. I would appreciate being informed of the outcome of this, preferably via E-mail. Thanks.
