car accelerating on it's own while backing up

I bought my 2010 Ford Edge from a dealer in Menomonee Falls, WI on 07/12/16. About a week to ten days later while backing into my garage with my foot on the brake the car rapidly accelerated in reverse. This took me by surprise and luckily I had my foot on the brake or I would have gone right through the rear of my garage. I called the dealer the next day and asked if there was any recalls on this car and they replied no. I told them what had happened and they told me to bring the car up by them so they could take a look at it. When I got to the dealer, the service writer got in my car and said let's go for a ride. We went for a short ride and returned to the dealership lot where the service writer said to Me okay make it do what it was doing. I looked at him like he was from another planet. I explained that I don't know how to make it do what it did. We went inside and he said there was nothing wrong with my car. Since that time this problem has be an intermittent but reoccurring problem. I have looked up the former owners of my vehicle and have talked with them. Each person said that they never experienced what I had described. On 02/08/17 I contacted corporate Ford's customer service about the problem and again explained that this is happening on an intermittent but regular basis. Ford's response to was that my car is out of warranty and just assigned my concern/complaint a case number. I asked what am I supposed to do with this case number? If I end up having an accident or killing someone should I just give them the case number and say there is no problem, but here is the case number Ford gave me when I suggested that a problem might exist? The customer care representative did not respond except to ask is there anything else she could help me with. I again tried to explain the gravity of this concern, but got nowhere. I had to laugh at the ludicrousness of her question. She then just told me to have a nice day, attempting to end the call. I said wait a minute, don't you think Ford would want to look into this? To my surprise she replied NO, there are not enough complaints about this problem for them to get involved and that there is no recall at this time! Again she asked is there anything else she could help me with, I laughed again and said that she did not help me with anything in the first place, so why start now. I hung up and in frustration and made another appointment at the dealership to look at the car again and hopefully see the problem I am describing. Hopefully this time the technician will take the time to actually find the problem. Please don't get the wrong idea, I really like my car but this problem is starting to scare me. I just hope that I don't end up killing someone or being injured myself. If this is how Ford takes care of there customer's serious concerns, this will be the last FORD I will ever own!
