The contact owns a 2010 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving approximately 5 mph, another vehicle crashed into the front driver's side door. The air bags failed to deploy with the significant impact. The driver sustained three fractured ribs, injuries to the shoulder, a traumatic brain injury and was currently on life support. A police report was filed of the incident. The vehicle was declared destroyed and towed to a salvage facility. The manufacturer was not notified of the problem. The vehicle was not inspected to determine the cause of the air bag failure. The approximate failure mileage was 39,000. Updated 06/17/14 the consumer stated as a direct result of the accident, his wife died shortly thereafter, on April 7, 2014, from the injuries she sustained. Updated 08/05/14.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Edge. The contact was traveling 30 mph and crashed into two vehicles. The air bags failed to deploy and the contact sustained chest and neck injuries as a result. The drivers of the other two vehicles were also reported injured. The police were contacted and a police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed and towed to a local repair shop. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure and current mileages were 15,000.
