After being parked on a hill for approximately 30 minutes, the car rolled down the hill and crashed into a tree. (a friend ran over and opened one of the doors and decided against hopping into the moving car and backed away.)
After the car crashed, my husband immediately got into the car and put the car in reverse and backed up to see the damage but the door that was opened moments before opened up again just as he passed another tree and bent the door back. this car was a rental and now the company is charging us over $7,000 for damages.
The car DROVE back up the hill and to the rental company's parking lot. we had no problems with the brakes and my husband was highly impressed with the car until it rolled down a hill while in park. the hill wasn't too steep, it wasn't wet and there was no snow/ice on the ground. am I the only one thinking that the Ford company should deal with this? they did an inspection and found no problems but still needed to charge us so much money! they are going to rent this car out again, so if you're looking to rent a car (or even BUY one) I would NOT suggest to buy a Ford Edge. there is supposedly no reason for the car to roll down the hill and now we're stuck with a huge bill. to top it off, my husband is a marine and we were visiting home on his pre-deployment leave and no way to get home because they wouldn't give us another car. this car caused much more trouble than it's worth.
