Bought this 2010 Ford Edge from Walton Motors in Savannah,MO. A few days later we could here a 'whistle noise' when you drove between 50 and 55 mph. when I took it to the dealer, at first they seemed concerned. That was short lived! They told me they would get an Engineer from Kansas City to look at it. Engineer said to put some deadening tape around the transmission cable that goes through the fire wall. They did that, didn't fix it. Then the Engineer says replace cable that goes through the fire wall. They did it, didn't fix it. The dealer wanted to replace the transmission thinking it was ports that may not have been drilled out correctly at factory.

After 2 weeks of waiting on Engineer's report. The Shop Manager and I demanded the transmission be replaced. They did. Didn't fix it. Then they came up with a story that this problem had been occurring in some foreign model cars that had the same transmission.

I kept saying to the Shop Manager "I can't believe they(meaning the Dealer's wife) drove it 4000 miles and couldn't hear anything." Come to find out, This is the Shop Manager's Mother. Go figure!

I was so pissed by this point, that I just wanted rid of this car. The Dealer/Owner wouldn't even meet with me to discuss a Dealer/Factory buy back. So I asked my salesman about a trade. I'm paying $32,000 for this car that now has 6500 miles, they would only allow me $24,000. Plus it would cost another $4000 in interest to buy a cheaper car. DON'T MAKE SINCE.

I finally got Tri-State Ford in Maryville,MO to somewhat fix the problem that Walton's couldn't seem to. Never going back to Walton Motors!!! I had purchased a new Edge from them back in 2007. It ran great, to bad I traded for something I thought would be better.

Update from Sep 6, 2018: There's a grommet that goes through the firewall for the speedometer cable. There are two manufactures of this grommet. One is a solid rubber and the other has perforates on it. I had the one with perforates in it. Tri-State Ford put 39 cents worth of silicone caulk around the grommet to fill in the perforated holes and added noise dampening tape to also seal around the area. Whistle noise was and is still, gone.
