CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2015 Ford Edge has a trend of the engine dying while driving, which is typically considered a safety issue.

Owners report the stalling while driving problem is caused by the throttle body needing replacement. The problem typically occurs at low mileage & so the issue has been covered under warranty -- although by now, the 2015 Edge is generally past the full warranty period.

Takara recall I have had continuous issues with my 2015 Edge with the doors becoming ajar. The first time I was stuck in below zero conditions, without being able to have my heart on close my doors or lock them. If that wasnt enough, I had to call a tow truck because my car battery died as a result of being able to close the doors. This has happened countless times and now again I have another issue but the lift gate is ajar. This time however the car is still driving. How can Ford not recall this? you say it isn't a safety issue but I could have froze to death, been seriously injured when I'm driving and the door suddenly flies open. Correct this. I will end up filing a lawsuit if anything happens again. I just bought this car a year ago. You cannot justify a $40,000 car not being able to open or close my doors or trunk. Get it figured out or I will be contacting someone who will. I've been in support of Ford since I was 16. You're about to loose a valuable customer and I'm about to spread the word how Ford cant stand behind their vehicles.

Discovered on or about 11/19/18 a wavy crack/fissure across rear-most moon roof iwindow. This is the window component of the moon roof which does not move.. the window crack/fissure was not the result of any accident or impact with any object. I have 38,000 miles on this vehicle. Internet search suggests this may be a common vehicle defect. Fortunately the window has not shattered.

Vehicle was parked on 09/29/18 with no cracks. Upon opening the cover to the vista sunroof on 0.9/30/18, both front and back panels had developed long wave like cracks between the layers of glass. There is no indication of impact to the panels. A pen track test was performed with no findings of any impact points. This appears to be a defect in the material or manufacturing process as these cracks appear to be stress related and not impact related.

Purchased 2015 Ford Edge in August 2018, purchased by my son. We asked if the sunroof was the same glass as windshield. Dealership did not readily know but the 2 panels said laminate. One sunroof panet broke and dealer said it wasnt their problem SUV was purchased under waranty and newly owned, withing about 20 days. The dealer told my son to call insurance and insuarance was to pay plus my son paid deductible. The dealers auto body said they found a piece of glass and replaced it rather than order new. The dealer replaced with the type of glass that is textured and they said it shatters into small pieces. It does not match the tinted laminate that was there or the second other sunroof panel that is there. It can't be used for fear of exploding and why did they put in something unsafe and worthless.

Rear roof glass has now cracked for a second time. Spider-like veins. Insurance claim covered the first repair, but clearly the manufacturer has an issue based on the number of complaints about this problem. Couldn't tell you when or how it happened, but there is no visible damage (I.e. rock, etc.) that could have caused the breakage. Ford needs to address this issue.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Edge. The contact stated that the lug wrench that came with the vehicle for removing the lug nuts failed to fit the lugs correctly. The vehicle was taken to all nation Ford orange park (7700 blanding blvd, jacksonville, fl 32244, (904) 270-9943) and the contact was informed that this was a known failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall. The wrench and lug nuts were not replaced. The failure mileage was approximately 87,000.

Front and rear lower door jams collect dirt and salt on door. This happens both on highway and town driving. I had to have Ford clean and reinstall the gasket on the jam at a cost to me. This has not fixed the problem. Has happens since I got it with 11K miles.

After owning my car for only 16 months, the panoramic sunroof on my 2015 Ford Edge titanium cracked completely down the length as well as across the width of the entire roof. Neither the car nor roof had not been struck by anything - it was very obviously a stress fractures. It was a warm sunny spring day, and the car had been just sitting in front of my house. When I drew back the sunroof shade, I saw the roof completely cracked side to side and front to back. I very carefully drove to my Ford dealership. The service department insisted that a rock or something hit it and refused to do anything to help replace it. I had to have a body shop replace the sunroof and my insurance company covered remaining $800 of the $1300 cost after I paid the $500 deductible. My auto insurance has now gone up several hundred dollars because they considered it an "accident" which it was not! this is obviously a manufacturing defect which very worries me that the replacement roof will be also likely to break. There was definitely no impact but Ford refused to acknowledge any responsibility - this is criminal.

I started seeing water on the drivers side floor of the car in November 2017 after about a week of rain and after the car was sitting in my driveway for a couple of days. There was about an inch of water on the floor and water shooting out of the vent under the drivers seat when the heat is turned on. All of the windows on the inside of the car are so wet & foggged up they just drip. After googling 2015 Ford Edge water leaks about 20 + articles popped about Ford issuing a stop sale on some 2015 Ford Edge models made before April 28th 2015 for water leaks that cause corrosion, molding, and electrical problems. My car was made April 8 2015. I talked to Ford and since it wasnt an actual recall they wont address it. I talked to the dealership who then told me since it out of warranty & there wasnt an actual recall that they wont either. After about a week of going back and forth with bickford Ford they decided to look at it. I brought it in on decemeber 18 2017 and they contracted it out to a company called hoglunds in everett Washington. On decemeber 20 2017 bickford called and told me they diagnosed the issue, that it was indeed a water leak in the frame of the car and that they were going to have it fixed. On decemeber 22 2017 bickford called and said that it was fixed and ready to pick up. When I went to pick it up. They told me that they had washed it and handed me they keys. When I got in the car the floor was more wet that it ever had been before because it was washed and the windows were fogged up. After asking why it was still wet they told me it wasnt their responsiblity to clean up the water and they were just going to fix the leak. I then called hoglunds and they told me that there is a hole in the factory seam of the car on the drivers side above the fender that cannot be accessed without 30-40 hours of labor. So they hadnt actually done anything with the car.

While driving down the interstate we hear a loud 'pop' which sounded like a balloon popping then a crackling noise. I looked back and the entire rear window on the hatch of our Edge had shattered. Luckily it stayed in tact until we returned home and when I shut a door it started to break all of the way open. We were not traveling by any other vehicle at the time this happened.

The panoramic sunroof has developed a crack. A simple google search will show this is a common problem with this year. According to the dealer, the crack was caused by an impact. I am not able to see any impact damage. These windows are supposed to be stronger than steel. If I have to worry about a 200lb glass roof collapsing on top of me, that needs to be fixed. For refuses to acknowledge this as a defect and puts it off on the consumer. A safety recall should be issued.

Rear doors freeze shut trapping rear seat riders. This has happened many times on this car here in northern Minnesota. Have taken car to dealer three times with the doors frozen. They have done all they can to repair this including modifying the car at my cost. Ford has not responded with any help, our dealer has no idea what more they can do, but has told us we are not alone with this problem. It happens anytime we have slush on the roads and the temp. Is below 32 degrees

I noticed a spot that was about an inch long on the rear hatch back glass where the defroster grid appeared to be delaminated. Later that evening, I was on my way to work. The temperature was below freezing. I was driving about 35 mph on a country road because the roads were icy. There was no traffic on the road other than myself. I allowed the car to warm up with the rear defroster on for about two minutes prior to my trip. About a mile up the road, the rear hatch back glass exploded. A section about 8" by 6" was blown out away from the vehicle, with the rest of the glass broken but remaining in place. The section of the window that was blown out was the same area where I had seen the delamination earlier that day.

From the date we bought our Ford Edge we have had white particles, dust and dirt coming in from all of the door seals and rear back hatch. The white particles are all through the vehicle. There is a brown dust or dirt on the top of the passenger seat and rear passenger seat and on the head rests for both seats. The dirt and dust makes me cough a lot, ( no one has ever smoked in the car ). it feels like we are inside of a vacuum cleaner disposable bag. We believe none of the seals on any of the doors work properly. When we first got the car, a burning smell was coming from the passenger side of the vehicle. A new exhaust system was put on the car a month after we bought it. That problem with the burning smell went away. We were told by the fourth dealership that we took the vehicle to that all the seals on the doors and back hatch would have to be replaced, but that never came about. So here we sit with all the white dust and dirt. We believe the cabin filters are not working. So the dust and the dirt are also coming in through all of the vents in the vehicle.
