I had just started my Edge to take my son to a doctor's appointment. After being warmed up I pressed the brake prior to putting it in drive. I heard a clunk sound and the brake pedal went to the floor. I knew something was wrong so I released the brake pedal and pressed it again. Same result the pedal went down to the floor. I turned off my vehicle and went to find out the brake problem (I am an aircraft mechanic). I saw brake fluid dripping on the near the right front tire. It was towed to the South Bay Ford Dealer in California where they found the rubber brake line leaking. Of course, they said it was cut so they would not have to honor my warranty. It's there as I type this being repaired. I told them I would like the old hose to returned to me. Car dealerships are not selling as much (COVID-19) so the repair departments, in my opinion, are charging outrageously to make up for the difference.

Update from Jul 23, 2020: After speaking with a very knowledgable rep Mike at South Bay Ford my complaint was addressed. We spoke at length regarding the particular brake line needed for my vehicle. I said the line could have been made with metal mesh reinforcement seeing that the line is the most vulnerable part of the brake system. And for some obscure reason, the brake lines are NOT part of the Ford ExtraCare extended warranty. Not for my vehicle anyway. Mike did some magic and was able to reduce the price by $50. And I was offered the upgrade to the Premium Care warranty. But of course, I would somehow need to remove my current warranty.
