First let me say I LOVE my Escape, however the water leak is annoying and is a concern due to potential future damage such as rust, interior water issues, etc. Actual date I first noticed this I really cant pinpoint since I first thought it might be condensation. Inside the back hatch glass I noticed water marks or streaks from the top to bottom of the glass. I have kept a watch on this and seems to happen with large amounts of rainfall, and it is definitely getting worse. Last night after a hefty downpour-I needed in the back end of my Escape and when I opened up the hatch there was a puddle of water where the latch sticks up on the floor area of the vehicle. Since it was dark I wasn't able to do much investigating but I believe the water is now running down the inside of the glass, going behind the interior panel and pooling around the latch. I have an appointment at the end of this week (10-12-2012) for another issue and will be asking about this as well.
