Can someone please tell me the best kind of glue to use to glue my striker plate back to the window? Any cheapest way? Thank you...

Escape XLT V6, 3.0L

  • Automatic transmission

My pos 2008 Escape liftgate window striker plate fell off. It was glued on to the window glass and I finally re-glued it back on with some expensive ($50+/tube) urethane atomotive glue. The engineering wizards at Ford were to cheap to attach the plate with a bolt through the glass. To re-glue it, I had to remove the rear windhield wiper assembly which cost me $150 at the Ford dealer (stealer) and then the plate could be attached and the wiper assembly re-installed. So far, it had been repaired about 6 months and it is holding up OK.
