We bought a 1999 Ford Expedition eddie bauer almost a year ago. The day we bought it we noticed a burnt oil smell. The dealer replaced the head gasket. Now almost a year later, we blew a spark plug and need a new head. Dealer says that the head gasket and head are not related"??" I was told that this car has these problems because of aluminum heads..I want the dealer to replace it, I am willing to pay more for a new one, but I am not willing to repair it and take a loss! help!!
Consumer complained about a consistent problem with the engine check light in 1999, Ford, Expedition. Every time engine light was on vehicle hesitated/shook. Dealer replaced engine sensor, but problem still occurring.
1999 Ford Expedition: 4.6 SOHC ead gasket leaks oil fixed twice still leaks. Multi function switch replaced once, doe's not work again. Expedition has rough idle, never been able to fix.
Interior lights malfunctioning, daytime running lights not working correctly, heating/cooling system not working properly; stays on even when key is not in ignition. When ignition is turned on or off, the woofer makes a loud thumping sound. Woofer inoperable. Right sign wing never worked properly/ will not open or close. Braking system is doubtful, it squeaks, and when gas is released engine and braking are not coordinated smoothly. Constant squeaking when in motion. Dealerships service repair personal neglect and refuse to find the causes, even though vehicle is still under warranty.
Right cylinder head gasket leaking oil. Dealer said no warranty too old and too many miles. It's a 1999 Ford Expedition with 38,000 miles. Ford knows there is a problem see tsb's. but will not do anything about it.
