Expedition XLT 4.6L V8 Triton 24 valve

  • Automatic transmission
  • 224,000 miles

Well, to begin with the Triton 3v motor is the worst ever and have a lot of problems. First it was VCT solenoid, then cam position sensors, then wheel bearings on three wheels. On June 9-2014, while driving about 40 miles per hour, the truck started to shake and made a loud noise like if it was a heavy duty truck. The check engine light and battery and check gauge light all came on. Once I pulled over then put my scanner on and got random miss fire codes and a huge loss of power.

I managed to make it closer to home while being very scared of being hit. About thirty minutes later, after making a light, the steering got hard and the car cuts off on the side of the road. Thank god I was not killed and after walking about six miles I got it towed later that day. My next move is to change the throttle body and that it does solve my problem.
