Smelled gasoline in our garage. Discovered that the plastic shield around the gas tank had rubbed through both the shield surrounding the gas line and the gas line itself causing the SUV to have a gas leak. Dealer to replace gas line and shield. I will make sure to get both the shield and gasline.

Fuel line rubbing against a sharp edge on firewall of 2000 Ford Expedition 4WD,5.4 engine, caused gas leak which was leaking directly on the exhaust and catalytic converter. If this had happened on trip which I had planned in the next two days my family could have been seriously hurt or worse.
