The contact owns a 2019 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds and hitting a bump, the rear end of the vehicle shuddered violently. The contact also stated that upon starting the vehicle, the vehicle made an abnormally loud sound momentarily. Additionally, the contact stated that while depressing the accelerator pedal from a complete stop, the vehicle failed to respond. The contact stated that upon releasing and slightly depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle responded. Recently, the contact stated while driving at highway speeds, the front end of the vehicle would shake upon depression of the brake pedal without warning. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring while driving at various speeds, which required the contact to slightly depress the accelerator pedal several times until the vehicle progressively accelerated to the desired speed. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. Additionally, the manufacturer informed the contact that the VIN was not included in a recall and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.
