Vehicle was repaired under recall for the wheel lugs: Nuts and bolts on 11-11-98. On 5-6-99, the left rear tire separated form the vehicle. The owner contacted the dealership. The dealership declined to repair vehicle because the consumer had the tires rotated. The manufacturer has been notified.
Had received recall notice 98V095000 & contacted dealer. Took vehicle in for repairs on lugs: Nuts. In the process of repairing lugs: Nuts, the "O" rings were removed. They should not have been removed.
Consumer received a recall letter from Ford dealer, saying to bring in vehicle in for parts to be replaced recall #98S14. When consumer took the vehicle in the parts were not avalible.

Due to failure of the lug nuts (recall component) wheel fell off of vehicle, wheel hit another vehicle in the windshield causing damage. No notice of recall was received by consumer.(complaint sent in by owner of other vehicle).

Wheels bolts stretching upon normal tightening due to improper metal or hardening. The nut seizes on the wheel bolt before it tightens properly and causes the wheel lug nut washer to "eat away" the aluminum wheel enough to allow movement of the wheel to break off the wheel bolts and separate the wheel from the axle.
Consumer has not received second notifcation from manufacturer concerning the lugs: Nuts, recall problem has not been corrected due to no parts. Recall number 98V095000.
Consumer received three recall letters that have not been properly handled. Manufacturer recall98S18/NHTSA recall #98V161000 for rear springs; /NHTSA recall #98V095000 for lugs: Nuts, and manufacturer recall#97S86/ NHTSA recall#97V147000 for transmission cable. Consumer has had vehicle in at dealer six times.
