I purchased this Ford F150 1999 about seven years ago. I have noticed from the first time I drove it, when I first start it up I hear a series of dings (like ones you would hear for seat belt not fastened), but the seat belts are fastened. My radio sometimes has power and works, other times it has no power to come on. Sometimes my odometer is on and I can read my mileage, most of the time its off. Sometimes when the blower fan is being used it does not go of when the ignition key is turned off and removed, the only way to stop this problem is to disconnect the battery. I have heard on occasions, a clicking sound behind the dashboard area, again the only way to make this problem stop was to disconnect the battery connections. I fear it may lead to, or cause a fire somehow. Most of the time I can leave my truck parked, and start it up the next day, sometimes after sitting over night the battery is mysteriously drained dead the next morning. I have been diligent to make sure I have left nothing on that could in any way drain the battery. I fear these are manufacturer problems, do I have any options to get these issues repaired?

The contact owns a 1999 Ford F-150. While driving approximately 35 mph, the contact was involved in a crash. The air bags failed to deploy and the seat belts did not lock. A police report was filed. The contact experienced soreness and the passenger had to have a staple placed in his head as a result of not being protected by the seat belt. The vehicle was unable to be driven after the crash. The dealer did not offer assistance and the manufacturer has not been notified. The current and failure mileages were approximately 120,000.

In a 45 mile an hour roll over in a Ford F150 my son as a passenger wearing his seat belt was ejected from the vehicle causing great bodily harm. The seat assembly broke loose from the floor frame, seat belt broke and he was along with the driver ejected through the passenger door which opened during the roll over. After ejection of the passengers the truck traveled over a small bank into a stream bed and exploded into fire.

The contact states there is NHTSA recall campaign 05V388000 concerning the vehicle speed control:cruise control. The parts needed for recall repairs were not available at the local dealership. He spoke to the manufacturer, who confirmed the parts were not available at this time. Updated 12/27/2005. The tires had excessive wear at 20000 miles. The seat belt roller has been replaced three times. The air bag control was replaced. Both doors had stress fractures. The rear brake lines were not secured properly which resulted in wear. The wheel hubs came off while driving at highway speed. The driver side exterior rearview mirror was defective.

Digital odometer light turns on & off. Door ajar light, dome light, and automatic door locks go on & off also. Electrical problems may be the "GEM module." Seat belts do not retract getting cut/damaged from door latch when door is closed, they have been replaced once already. Ford engineers were notified nearly six months ago but no reply.
