This is straight BS. So many accounts of this happening, and Ford won't do a damn thing about it. My bad for knowing this as an issue and still went and bought the 02 F150 SuperCrew. I've only had it for about 4 weeks and bam.....blew the spark plug right out. Crazy thing is, I did research before buying it and this was the one thing that stuck out as a problem. I can only imagine that every one of these Triton motors will, or have already done this. Recall, Recall, Recall

I HAD THE ON GOING "SPARK PLUG BLOW OUT PROBLEM".. IT HAD BEEN REPAIRED ONCE ALREADY & THE FIRST MECHANIC THAT LOOKED AT IT SAID IT CAN'T BE DONE AGAIN. I HAVE SINCE TALKED TO ANOTHER MECHANIC THAT IS GOING TO TAKE A LOOK AT IT & THINKS HE CAN PUT ANOTHER HELECOIL IN & MAKE IT HOLD THIS TIME. I AM NOT SURE OF ANY OTHER DAMAGE TO THE HEAD BUT THAT SEAMS TO BE THE CONCERN WITH EVERYONE I TALK TO.

THE TRUCK IS IN REALLY GOOD SHAPE. I PURCHASED IT IN APRIL LAST YEAR WITH 140k ON IT & IT NOW HAS 180K. I CAN'T AFFORD TO BUY ANOTHER TRUCK & AM HOPING I CAN REPLACE THE HEAD IF NEEDED & TRUST THE TRUCK.. I TOO AM A FORD GUY ALL THE WAY BUT THIS SITUATION ALONG WITH FORD'S UNWILLINGNESS TO ACCEPT ANY RESPONSIBILITY IS CRAP... I AM THE SECOND OWNER OF WHAT I THOUGHT WAS A GOOD USED TRUCK & UP THE CREEK W/O A PADDLE... CAN BARELY AFFORD TO FIX IT & CAN'T AFFORD A DIFFERENT TRUCK SO WE ARE DOWN TO ONE VEHICLE & IT IS A HUGE "PAIN IN THE ASS"... THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE I HAVE TALKED TO THAT HAVE EITHER HAD THIS ISSUE OR KNOW SEVERAL PEOPLE THAT HAVE IS UNBELIEVABLE TO ME!!! & THIS DOESN'T JUSTIFY A RECALL????? WTF??????

The common fix is to helicoil the spark plug hole with one of a few different tool sets on the market. It seemed to be fixed ok at Sarasota Ford in December, but the SAME ONE just blew out again. It is at Sarasota Ford getting repaired (hopefully for free). I will post another complaint if it happens again.

I have replaced the heli-coil 3 times and it keeps blowing out even with lok-tite and j.b. weld. This is really stressful on me since I have no vehicle, just got laid off, and have a 1 month old infant. Ford needs to get off there asses and make it a recall since I have seen hundreds of reports with the same problems. My mechanic says the aluminum head might be too week to hold the repair inserts( since they installed 3 as of right now and all blew back out)
