While replacing the spark plugs, every plug broke off and was very difficult to remove. My mechanic got out the first seven, but the eighth would not come out. It subsequently fell into my engine, causing it to seize. I should have gotten another 100,000 miles out of this truck!

2006 Ford F-150 harley davidson has coil misfire problem. All eight coils have been replaced in the last 24 months and three have been replaced twice. Cat converter has been replaced twice in the same time period. All plugs have been replaced. The car continues to misfire. As a result, the vehicle has an extremely strong odor of fuel resonating. The dealer states that they cannot do anything to find the root of the problem. This vehicle is dealer serviced.

The contact owns a 2006 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while traveling 50 mph, there was a loud beep and the safe mode signal illuminated then the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was merged to the shoulder and after waiting for about 15 minutes, the vehicle was able to be restarted. The vehicle had not been inspected. The failure and current mileages were 50,100.

While turning truck started to emit noises, sounded like an exhaust problem, manifold etc. No service engine light on and all gauges were normal. Then while driving, as truck shifted down to overdrive, noise returned, loss of power, but again no service engine light, gauges all normal. Took vehicle to dealer, have been told, engine needs to be replaced, (81,250 miles/130,000km) for a meager $6000. Vehicle has been dealer maintained since new, oil changed every 3125, miles/5000km (by dealer) still no service engine light, gauges still reading normal. Manufacturer will do nothing. Looking for lawyer who would like to start class action suit against manufacturer, considering all the issues I have found on the 2006 F150 V8 Triton since starting research yesterday, there are a lot of us that Ford is not willing to assist.

While approaching an intersection, about to make a right at the light, (I was driving about 20mph) on 12/24/12 (with my two children and husband in the truck) the vehicle beeps and it displays "engine safe mode...low oil pressure" then the power steering cuts off and the whole vehicle shut down! I am frantic at this point because I have no clue what is going on! I was in the middle of traffic and had to cut the car off and crank it up again. Luckily I didn't get rear ended or in an accident. That same day I went and got my oil change because it was over due. Well on 1/4/13 the same thing happens as I am turning into the parking lot of mcdonald's. I get the same error message as before, the steering wheel locks up, and truck cuts off! this so extremely dangerous. I looked this issue up online and see that it appears to be a common issue with the 2006 F-150 and the Expedition. My bother-in-law, who also has a similar F-150 to ours, said the same thing has happened to him twice.

According to the model year Ford F150 maintenance manual, spark plugs are to be changed every 100,000mi. Just prior to this mileage for removal and replacement of the spark plugs the engine started to develop a misfire. Ford has recognized the problem with the spark plugs and the difficulty to remove them. This known maintenance issue led Ford to provide a tsb on the issue. This misfire has almost caused me to stall several times while towing a 7,000lb boat. This is dangerous and creates a safety issue for myself and the motorists around me. I express concern that Ford should be replacing these defective plugs with updated designs before tragedies start to happen. This engine/spark plug design entered service in 2004 and vehicles, like mine, will begin to experience serious safety related incidents if it is not addressed.

I had a fuel injector fail that completely ruined the engine at 71K miles. I had to have it replaced. I was very surprised to see that my problem was exactly like the Ford 2005 customer satisfaction program 07M08 problem. My truck was built in 2005, but titled as a 2006. I have talked and wrote to Ford but they would not help me. I told them I still have the failed injector and they wouldn't even look at it to see if it was one of the defective parts that spurred the 07M08 program. I believe Ford needs to expand the customer satisfaction program 07M08 to include 2006 models. I would love for the NHTSA to pressure Ford to revisit this issue. This was hard for me because I still have the injector that failed. I keep it as a reminder of the $8,000 I had to spend on a new engine. I believe the NHTSA should pressure Ford to admit which injectors were an issue so people like me have leverage to fight giants like Ford that in this case screwed their customer.
