Recently bought a new F150 XLT 4x4 to replace 99 Ford. On Oct 1, 2009 engine over revved after being shut off for approx 7 minutes. After finally shutting it off in about 20 seconds was very hard to start. Took vehicle to 2 Ford dealerships, 1 just a visual inspection... nothing wrong and next day took truck to selling dealership where they put it on the computer...showed nothing wrong. Now when I start truck when cold it puffs blue smoke from exhaust. Has anyone else came across this problem? Now I've noticed that if I don't let engine warm up, the temperature gauge doesn't come up properly, however it does blow warm air in cab.
My concern is that this truck may do this when pulling away from lights in heavy traffic.
