The steering locks up when turning left. Sometimes it is for a only momentary and other times it happens and takes a few seconds to unlock. Seems very dangerous and an obvious defect. Happens at idle as well as up to freeway speeds. Only happens in a left hand turn.

Electric power assist steering failure, while making a left hand turn the steering failed part way through the turn causing the truck to go straight, because of this I almost hit 2 parked cars. When this happened the steering wheel locked up and I could not turn it. This is a known issue to Ford as there have been thousands of recall for these units from 2011 and newer, my truck falls in to the recall void.
The steering wheel "sticks" or "catches" when traveling on a highway at 45-60 mph and turning left. It has happened several times but only when turning to the left. I have only had this truck 2 weeks (bought it used with 77,000 miles) but it started having this problem after 2 days.
Vehicle steering it very jerky and locks up, particulary when turning left. Makes vehicle difficult to drive in a straight line without 'wandering" in the lane. Not safe. Started about a year ago, getting progressively worse.
Been having problems with the stability control light popping up on the screen when all of a sudden my steering wheel locked up and the steering control light shows up. Truck won't steer left or right. Thank god I was parked when it failed. Being told it's the electronic rack N pinion box. I only have 60,000 mile on the truck. I'm 59 years old and I drive to from work. Please help.
My steering wheel will stick when turning left. It makes it hard to keep it in one lane.the problem will come and go. The dealership said they did not see any problem. But like I said the problem will come and go. You have to force the steering wheel back to the original position. I can make a video if this will help.
When driving and taking a left turn, the power steering stops, making it almost impossible to turn the wheel. It is intermittent, but is happening more and more often. Back in October of 2016 I took it to my Ford dealer to have it fixed. I was told that my warranty was up a week earlier, so I would have to pay. I couldn't afford to pay for it at the time, so I declined. Now it is much worse.
Electronic steering system failure when turning left. The issue began when I purchased the vehicle but was very intermittant. Over time it has gotten worse. Ford recalled other vehicles for same issue due to safety but not mine. I see on line many forums disucssing my exact issue on the same model year. I went to Ford corporate with no traction as they seemed like they didnt know the issue. I took my truck to the Ford dealer & they agree that its failing & want to charge me full price for correction which is 2K to replace electronic steering rack. I said I couldn't afford, they inspected my vehicle & passed it knowing that the steering was unsafe. I cannot afford 2K, I paid 45K for the truck. I have purchase many Ford. I am hoping that this becomes a recall soon.
I recently purchased a used Ford F150 2011 raptor. The steering continues to be problematic. The issue is that turning the wheel "sticks" and becomes almost non functional. The problem is sporadic but steady. I paid over $600 at a local auto repair shop and the problem still exists. Can I obtain more info if I can get this resolved by Ford under a recall?

While driving my Ford truck it makes a grunting or binding sound when turning. Have noticed similar problems on internet. Some steering problems have created a potential for death or serious injury. Steering is an important function. Please investigate so one of these options does not occur to me or a family member.
Ford F150 2011. The steering on the truck locks up while driving. Often described on other forums as going into manual mode vs assisted steering. I have had this happen while at a high rate of speed, going around a curve with my family in the vehicle. I have seen many complaints about the same issue on this vehicle however no recall has been issued yet. I have not had an accident yet due to the issue, but I have since placed the vehicle in storage awaiting a recall.
