i have had multiple problems and money dumped into the truck from fuel door breaking. I paid 250.00 for the wiper motor and another 300.00 on the heater blend door. 1300.00 dollars, I fixed the down shift after taking to dealer multiple times before recall. BUT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE - I RAN ANOTHER CAR OFF THE ROAD BECAUSE THE STEERING STUCK.

I NOW HAVE A TCS LIGHT ON AND THEN EVERY NOW AND THEN I GET A VIBRATION IN THE STEERING AND IT FEELS LIKE IT'S GOING TO LOCK UP AGAIN. IT'S THE JOB OF NHTSA JOB TO HOLD FORD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THIS TYPE OF SAFETY ISSUE BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED

My problem started in March 2018. Called Ford Company and was told by Customer Services that this truck did not have a recall on the steering. So in other words I fit the bill. It is dangerous for anyone to buy/drive this truck. No one should buy this truck.

F-150 LT 5.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 38,000 miles

When turning to the right, the steering wheel would lock up in the turn. applying more pressure would free the steering. I thought it was the intermediate shaft failing. The part was expensive and not readily available. Did a little investigating from under the vehicle and through the hood. Found the aluminum heat shield on the exhaust manifold where bolted using manifold bolts deteriorated from having 2 different types of metal. The heat shield would migrate forward up against the lower universal joint on the intermediate shaft. This action would stop the the shaft from rotation. I believe this is a serious problem.

F-150 Lariat Ecoboost

  • Automatic transmission
  • 155,620 miles

While tuning right onto a freeway feeder, the steering wheel locked and had to be forced back to the left or I would have ended up in a ditch. Called the dealership and reported problem. On way to take the truck in, the problem repeated itself with identical results. Diagnoses was a steering position sensor but you can't replace just the sensor and the whole steering assembly has to be replaced. Drive out for repair is $1,900.00. I understand Ford wanting to increase HP and decrease drag on the motor but what a horrible design in that the failure not only cripples your vehicle but will injure if not kill people if this happens to someone and they panic.

F-150 King Ranch 5.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 87,520 miles

my 2011 f 150 king ranch steering sticks when I turn left, feels like there's an air pocket where I have to put extra pressure on it to get it to go back to center. happens all the time and I think this could cause a very serious accident. ford needs to step up and admit their recall and get a fix.
