Third time in for this repair. Dealer says it's an ongoing issue, other people have the same problem! Should be a safety issue, as the smell will make you sick, especially during the winter using the heater/defoggers. The truck is now out of basic warranty, so Ford Canada expects me to pay 1/3 the repair cost. My argument is, that this is ONGOING and seems to be a design/engineering issue!

a bad odor resembling exhaust comes through A/C vents

There is an awful odor coming out of the a/c vents. Fyi – I have owned this truck for four months. I did mention this to the dealer where I purchased my truck and they sprayed a cleaner through the a/c system that is supposed to eliminate odors however it did not remove the odor. I have put up with this problem to the point of it being unbearable and at times making me feel physically ill, as in nauseated. Words to try and describe this odor are “exhaust, plastic, chemical”, etc. This odor is sometimes so bad that the interior of my truck and my clothes reek of it. I am convinced that this odor is not healthy when exposed to it. I really like my truck but I no longer look forward to driving it. I read many accounts of this same problem on several Ford Forums. Does anyone know of a solution to this problem?
