I have a 2013 F150 FX2 Sport. At about 10,000 miles I felt the brakes slightly pulsing/vibrating when applied almost like a very mild ABS actuation... but is wasn't ABS. I took it to my dealer, Crown Ford of Fayetteville, NC. They test drove the truck and indicated nothing was wrong. At 27,645 miles the problem was an obvious problem. The dealer recognized there was a brake issue and attempted the machine the front rotors. Machining was not successful so the dealer replaced the Calipers, brake pads and front rotors. After that installation and brake repair I was happy the problem was resolved.

Warped rotors causing brake vibration. Dealer said rotors are covered only up to 18,000 miles, so I was given no warranty coverage. I believe warping occurred due to faulty caliper operation and therefor overheating. After being fixed for $400, brake froze up, smoking, overheating. Just one incident. Dealer inferred that I lied about the incident because everything checked out.

At 27,000 I went to Ford with the Front Brakes Problems and they turned the rotors and they were fine.At that point I bought the ext. warranty for the Truck.At 44,000 the brakes started to have the same problem so back to Ford I went.This time they say I need new rotors and brake shoes and that was not covered and it was part of normal were and tear.What a crock of sh*t that is and it cost me 460.00 when they should have never turned them the 1st time they should been changed but they now how to screw you and they want me to buy US products try making the the parts here Ford.The last Ford I had it was the windows falling and now this sh*t.

2013 Super Crew, 3.5 EcoBoost twin-turbo. Outstanding truck overall, engine is amazing. Rides incredibly smooth and quiet. @ 35000 miles the front brakes started to shudder/pulse when applying. I thought maybe anti-lock brake problem, but notices some minor grooves on rotor. Did not appear to be warped, but when brakes are applied easy or hard any speed over @30mph, the shudder is very annoying. Stops OK, but should be more confidence inspiring. Priced replacement rotors and pads, will go with aftermarket kit; drilled&slotted Evolution rotors with matching ceramic pads from Powerstop. @ $250-$280 online, will instal myself.

Ford tough ???? I hope so. The dealership told me, " that's nothing", when I showed him my rotors that had so many waves, you could surf on them. Only the fronts. No chatter, but it's not normal. I love the truck, but if continues to happen after I replace them, I might be looking to another brand. I had a Chevy at one time, and the electrical issues were unbelievable. At this point, I think you have to just hope you get a good one , no matter what brand you get...MADE IN AMERICA....doesn't mean what it used to.

So I take my truck to the dealer to get warranty work done on the 4wd hub because it makes a horrible grinding noise when it gets in a bind in 4wd. Hub is leaking and replaced and the service man calls me and tells me I need to replace my front and rear brakes. I ask how do I need new brakes at 27,000 miles. He proceeds to tell me because I drove in the mud. HELLO! It's a freaking 4wd! Did Ford not think it was possible that a 4wd might go in the mud?

I think it is ridiculous that such cheap parts are used and then we as a customer have to use our money to fix Ford's problem. Of course warranty would not cover it because it is not a "defective" part. Whatever! Why would I pay Ford to replace my brakes with the same p.o.s. parts they put on to begin with. Funny thing is on my oil service sticker, they marked that my brakes were just fine. Worthless!

2013 F150 Platinum 4x4.

At 12k miles my brakes started to shutter and got progressively worst. Only driving I do is interstate, (btw) it's never been off road or mountain driving. I have to cost and baby the brakes to the point of stupidity.

It's ridiculous to be dealing with is for the amount of money this truck cost. The dealership turned the rotors and it came back within 5k miles...now at 20k its back again.

If the factory would authorize replacing the rotors instead of turning the rotors wouldn’t have this headache. Can't believe how cheap they are.

....wish I would have bought a Chevy. What a waste of $50K.

FIRST OCCURRENCE HAPPENED ABOUT 9K MILES. SHIMMY IN FRONT SUSPENSION THAT COULD BE FELT THROUGH THE STEERING WHEEL AND EVEN BY PASSENGERS. BRAKE ROTORS WARPED UNDER NORMAL OPERATING CONDITIONS. FORD'S FIX WAS TO MACHINE THE ROTORS. PADS WERE NOT REPLACED. SO MUCH FOR A BUMPER-TO-BUMPER WARRANTY.

2ND OCCURRENCE WAS AT ABOUT 18K MILES. SAME ISSUE AS ABOVE. HAD TO ELEVATE THE PROBLEM TO FORD CORPORATE, BUT THEY WERE SUCH A PAIN IN THE ASS TO DEAL WITH I RESORTED TO HAVING TO HANDLE THE ISSUE ON A LOCAL LEVEL. FORD WANTED TO SPLIT THE BILL WITH ME (MY HALF WAS $250) BUT I FOUND OUT LATER THAT I COULD REPLACE BOTH ROTORS WITH UPGRADED PERFORMANCE ROTORS FOR UNDER $95...FORD RIPPED ME OFF.

MY TRUCK NOW HAS ALMOST 30K MILES AND THE ISSUE IS REOCCURRING. I HAVE AND HAVE HAD OTHER FORD VEHICLES WHICH REQUIRED ALMOST NO ATTENTION TO THE BRAKES. MY PREVIOUS F150 WENT ALMOST 85K MILES BEFORE THE BRAKE PADS WERE CHANGED.

The brakes were causing steering vibration when braking from highway speed (such as at the off ramp).

Ford had to turn the rotors to get rid of 'high spots' which seems really ridiculous at only 15K miles.

My previous truck (Chev) went 105K miles with no brake work whatsoever, so I'm not sure what "Built Ford Tough" is supposed to mean. There were some other mentions of this issue online for Ford's "cheap" rotors.

I have various other complaints regarding the alignment for this same vehicle at this same mileage that will be entered separately, and the driver's side door handle, molding/seal falling off driver's side door, a/c not cool enough on days over 90 degrees, ecoboost V6 not getting the mileage promised and especially not during the winter months.

This is my first AND LAST Ford truck!

At around 20000 miles I complained, the Ford dealer said they would check the rotors, now at almost 30000 miles slowing down is an experience that you wonder if it will hold together. I drive on the interstate daily, not like I am in city stop and go traffic. Dealership says it is not covered under warranty due to being an item not covered, the warranty says BRAKE LINING, not rotors.
