The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. When the vehicle was started, the brake warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was turned off and restarted; however, the warning indicator reappeared. Also, the brake pedal was depressed and went straight to the floorboard. The vehicle was towed to jim hudson Ford (located at 1201 w main St, lexington, SC 29072, 803-359-4114) where it was diagnosed that the brake booster needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 16V345000 (service brakes, hydraulic). The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 49,000. The VIN was not available.
Driving down the highway, trying to change lane to exit the road, press on my brakes to slow down, then my brakes light came on, saying iam low on brake fluid, and my breaks dont work, the pedal went al the way down to the flood. Put on my hazards light on, and let the truck slow down to an exit, very slow to stop while driving. Found out there a recall on my truck, call Ford #, they tell me that the truck had been service before in 2016, and there only one recall fix per vehicle. So iam out luck, the brake booster and master cylinder have to be replaced again..at my own expense...
We were leaving to get lunch, came up to a stop sign at about 30mph with a car coming downhill on the road we were getting ready to take. I attempted to use my brakes to stop at the stop sign, I was unable to stop and had lost my brakes. There was a grinding noise and my foot that was on the brake was fully pressed. We rolled through the stop sign, cutting off the car. I found the brake booster, vacuum / master cylinder to be an issue after taking it to a mechanic and dealership. This was the second time I've had these parts replaced with about 9,000 miles difference between the two instances (the first instance was unreported to NHTSA). Ford was contacted but I was informed there was nothing that could be done due to my state's (Ohio) lemon law.
Advancetrac service keeps coming on and steering and brakes begin pulsing and shaking and can't hardly turn, has happened when going straight and when turning while going from 35 to 70 mph on highway or side street. Only 19000 miles
When pushing on brakes after stopping, the pedal becomes soft and goes farther down. This has happened several times when stopping at a traffic light, stop sign, and trying to park on driveway.

I experienced a total failure of the brakes system. The brake light was not on and only came on later. The oil reservoir was totally empty and a even with a quart of oil added the reservoir is still empty with no visible leak. I was lucky to be able to stop the truck in a snow bank and no damage occur. I contacted Ford and was told that my truck was not on the recall list but according to the recall (2013-2014 F-150 3.5liters) I ask why but got no answer.
The bolts that hold the front brake caliper mounting brackets to the front spindle on both sides of the truck will come out on you, and it causes the caliper, and the caliper mounting bracket to come off on you.in my case, it came completely off once while backing up, and the other side came completely off while driving down the road. I still had somewhat back brakes left to get stopped. However, it sounded like the whole front end was coming out of it. I honestly thought the 4 wheel drive transfer case and transmission was falling out of it, due to the noise it made, and the jerking, jumping and wobbling it done when it came loose. Had I of been in rush hour traffic on the freeway, it would have caused a wreck if I would have had to stop quickly. I was lucky one come off while backing out of my driveway, and the other came off driving in my neighborhood going 20 mph. This was a scary situation due to it being a sudden event, with no warning what so ever each time it done it. I never would have thought a new truck would have a problem such as this, because it is basically the brakes falling off of it.
Failed master cylinder dumped all brake fluid into booster, resulting in complete loss of braking. Only the parking brakes still work, and they perform terribly. Occurred without notice during highway driving.
During a stop on city street at approximately 15 mph, the antilock braking system engaged on dry pavement for no reason but then lost all braking and ran into rear of a stopped vehicle.
Driving down the interstate at 70 mph, the "check brake system" warning flashed on the dash. I went to push the brake pedal and it was locked in place. I physically could not depress the pedal, not even enough to disable the cruise control. I had to switch cruise off on the wheel, shift to neutral, and coast to a stop on the shoulder of the highway. Shut the truck down, turned back on and the code disappeared and my brakes worked again. Later that day, the exact same thing happened on the interstate again. Physically could not depress the brake pedal. It was like it was locked in place and I could not bring the truck to a stop. I took my truck into the dewey Ford in ankeny, ia a couple nights later and they began diagnostics. 4 days later, they could not reproduce the problem, and advised me to come pick up the truck. Nothing against the dealer, as they cannot fix what they can't reproduce, and they were kind enough to provide a loaner and a discount on the diagnostics fee, but Ford corporate really needs to get involved on this safety concern. I've tried calling their customer service, but they will do nothing until it can be diagnosed. If the dealer can't find the problem, then Ford needs to send a product support representative to diagnose it themselves. As of today, my truck has done this 4 times since leaving dewey, but always when I am too far from their store to drop it off. At this point, im scared to drive my truck in traffic or with passengers. Please use your powers to relay this to Ford as we have a serious problem that they are ignoring. I have a receipt from the dealer for the diagnostics if a copy of this is needed for my complaint.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. While reversing the vehicle, the brake pedal became stuck to the floorboard. The contact drove the vehicle back onto the driveway, inspected the vehicle, and found that the brake fluid was leaking through the brake lines. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that the vehicle's warranty was expired. The approximate failure mileage was 26,000.
At 61,000 miles, while driving on the highway, my master cylinder suffered a sudden catastrophic failure (total brake fluid leak). This resulted in required replacement of entire front braking system at dealership.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. While driving approximately 20 mph, the brake system failed and there was a complete loss of brake pedal functionality. The contact engaged the emergency brake to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The vehicle was repaired, but the diagnosis was not provided. Autonation Ford arlington (1400 interstate 20 West, arlington, tx 76017, (817) 200-4503) referenced NHTSA campaign number: 16V343000 (service brakes, hydraulic) as a possible cause of the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000. Updated 11/20/18
The brakes suddenly went out while I was driving. I learned that the brake fluid in the master cylinder had leaked into the brake booster. There is no warning and it happens suddenly. In researching this, I learned there are thousands of Ford F150S that have the same problem.
Was at wendy's drive through after grocery shopping and brake light came on thought brake fluid was just low. By the time I was almost home maybe 2-3 miles away I had no brakes at all pedal went all the way to floor. When traveling around 50 miles an hour and you realize you have no brakes it's a very scary situation. I was able to get truck stopped but wasn't sure if it actually would. Per looking online other people with same model Ford trucks have experienced same exact issue where brake fluid leaks from master cylinder into brake booster causing brake failure. Very very dangerous Ford should issue recall!
I was driving about 35 mph and coming to a red light. I pressed the brake peddle and it went all the way to the floor. There was a warning chime and the dash illuminated a brake service warning and a low brake fluid level warning. There were virtually no brakes and I had to down shift the transmission and use the emergency brake to come to a stop, just in time before going through the intersection under a red light. We had the truck towed to a Ford dealership and they stated that all of the fluid in the master cylinder had leaked into the brake booster. They said that our truck did not meet the proper date to be taken care of under the known recall (NHTSA recall #16V-345, Ford recall #16S24) for the exact same problem. That recall ended on trucks built up to 8/14 and our truck was built on 12/14. We had to have the master cylinder and brake booster replaced under our extended warranty with only 22,901 miles on our truck. This was a catastrophic brake failure (virtually no brakes) with zero warning. If there had been traffic or if I would have been going any faster, this could have been an extremely dangerous brake failure. We are very concerned that the replacement parts are the exact same sub-standard and dangerous parts that had catastrophically failed. The dealership was not able to provide information that this very dangerous issue had been addressed and that redesigned parts had been installed in my truck. We feel that our truck needs to be included in the recall and that we need information on what was done with this problem to insure that it does not happen again.
Brake booster and brake master cylinder failed. Recall part on F150 with an eco boost but I have same vehicle with 5.0 engine and same part failed. Need help as this safety part is recalled on some models.
On the night of July 12 2018, I took my wife and my 3yr old to a store in my 2014 F150 with only 37,300 miles, everything felt normal on the truck with no indications of any mechanical problems. On our way back home while on the highway at about 65mph I put my foot on the brake to slow down for a merging car and my foot went clear to the floor board and no brakes what so ever, at the same time a warning came on the dash that said 'brake fluid level low'. this could have ended horrible if it would have been around rush hour. Luckily there was light traffic and I was able to stop the truck with the transmission and emergency brake. After this was over I checked the brake cylinder and it was empty, I know it was full but there were no signs of leaks, after filling it back up I took it for a drive and in just 2 miles it was empty again with mo brakes. The tech at the Ford dealer said the master cylinder and brake booster went out and that the fluid leaked into the booster. This didnt just put my life in danger, it was also my wife and 3yr old and any driver around me. How does a truck loose something as important as the brakes at only 37,000 miles?
Service advancetrack and service brake system warning lights iluminated while driving on a highway in a straight line. No sharp turns or hard braking, just sraight line driving.
