Used the sun roof half a dozen times, then the soul brackets broke, out of warranty. I took it to the dealer who told me Cost almost $3,000 to fix. We contacted my extended warranty program (Ford). They were gonna originally chip in $715.00 then I would have to take care of the rest, $2166.66. OUCH.

I spoke with a representative from the Ford warranty. They escalated it up the ladder and it ended up costing me $200 out of pocket. It should have only been $100 on the deductible, Ford picked up the remaining $2600.00 and change or whatever it was. Tested after the repairs we're done. It makes a loud thump when it drops down to retract. And it makes a kind of grinding growling noise when it ratchets up for the vent position and back down. I called and set a new appointment to take it back in to have it checked out again. It shouldn't have been released to me to pick up... Really disappointed.

Update from Sep 3, 2020: Note: Single pane sunroof not the panoramic. Requires removing interior, headliner to remove sunroof assembly.

For the second time, my sunroof brackets cracked. Ford sure is making quality sunroof parts! I opened the sunroof and I heard a loud crunch and it will not open. While troubleshooting, it got stuck open and there was rain in the forecast the next day. I FINALLY was able to get the sunroof closed and there it will stay for a while! I called Ford and they will not cover the parts even though they only lasted 11 months before failure. Luckily it's only about $105 to fix if I do the labor. Looks like I better start learning how to fix this sunroof if I want to keep the truck a while! It's going to be an issue for a while I imagine...

As with many other people, the panoramic sunroof brackets cracked. My sunroof would not open. It would go down an inch or so and then return to the up position. The brackets were broken and replaced under warranty.
