There wasnt an incident yet, but it was made a law that after may 1st, 2018, all new vehicles need rear view visibility systems. Ford made their vehicles have backup cameras, but they are faulty and stop working. Then charge consumers thousands of dollars to fix a safety issue that should be a recall, free of charge. I am filing a complaint om behalf of thousands and thousands of Ford owners. This law went into effect may 1st of 2018, According to USDOT and the National Highway Traffic safety administration. What ford is doing is wrong/unlawful and they should have to follow the law just like everyone else (even being an automobile company).
The rear window spontaneously shattered while stopped at traffic light in South Florida I heard a loud bang and discovered the rear window was shattered. It was temporarily held in place by the laminate in the glass and window tint. It was approximately 90? outside, and the air conditioner was on. I inspected both interior and exterior surfaces of the window. They were unmarked. We called our insurance agent and they directed us to get it repaired by one of two companies they dealt with. The vehicle is currently undrivable. When I closed the driver-??s door upon exiting the vehicle the window pushed out further towards the truck bed.
Rear window fractured and exploded when opening and then closing rear drive side door. Original owner. Neighbors outside and didn-??t see anything unusual or anyone around vehicle and Erlo cameras didn-??t pick up any activity. Vehicle was in driveway closest to garage door.
Driving 35mph on flat straight road when rear sliding window exploded with no external forces applied. Huge noise shocked me and made me swerve into adjacent lane. Glass shattered all over the rear seats and floor of the vehicle. Immediately brought vehicle to Flood Ford in East Greenwich to be looked at. Service advisor said he had never seen that and because I was a couple months out of warranty they wouldn't be paying for the repair. Contacted Ford customer service same day and was told the same thing.

Vehicle was in the garage, parked. I got in started the vehicle, heard what sounded like wind chimes, got out, looked under the truck and saw glass. I then noticed the back window was shattered. There was never any impact to the window.
Both tracks on panoramic roof are cracked and plastic pieces found in track. Sunroof stuck in open position on the highway. Cannot close panoramic roof so highway debris is flying into vehicle. Have sand and road debris hitting passengers inside vehicle.
Windshield fluid is freezing up. 1st time I thought it was because the fluid used was only for warmer temps as there was also some ice floating in the reservoir bb. Took to a dealer in NY, had the old fluid removed & replaced with fluid good to -20 degrees. It worked fine at first after repair but then overnight it froze again in the lines (not reservoir). It eventually defrosted in southern Virginia, after driving @6 hours. Luckily the roads were relatively dry. I've lived in cold climates the majority of my life never have experienced this. I found info on you tube that one of the valves needs to be enlarged to prevent freezing.
The rear window on my 2018 Ford F-150 shattered on both sides of the middle sliding window with no impact. The rear window shattered outward towards the bed of the truck and and not inside further confirming the shattered window was not due to impact of any kind. My truck was parked stationary at my office parking garage on an 80-85 degree day when the rear window randomly shattered outward. The edges of the glass that attached to the frame of the truck cab also shattered and "spider webbed" across the entire rear window just as a building window breaks when under stress from structural movement or shifting. The rear window clearly shattered outward from stress on the glass while my truck was parked and not moving. I have researched this incident and found that many other Ford trucks have experienced the rear wind spontaneously shattering with no impact. This is a serious safety hazard and I am relieved that I was not operating the vehicle when the window spontaneously shattered.
Rear window shattered without any impact. All of a sudden while driving in dry 70 degree weather I heard wind noise and when I looked over my shoulder I noticed the rear window has completely shattered except for the slider window,
The backup camera will sometimes be fuzzy or go dark when in reverse causing no visibility to the rear of the vehicle. This has occurred several times in the last few months.
The back glass on my 2018 F-150 exploded outwards into the bed of my truck when my wife shut the rear right door. The rear glass had no damage prior to this incident. The vehicle was purchased new, by me, in 2018. The glass was original from the factory. The incident happened today 04 July, 2020. The temperature outside was 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Some glass rained down onto my infant son's car seat base. We were very lucky that my wife decided to put something into the truck before we put my sons car seat in there. The glass cut my wife's hand a little bit. The vehicle was stationary with no key in the ignition.
The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 75 mph, the contact heard an abnormal noise and became aware that the sunroof had started to detach from the vehicle. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact pulled over while a bystander provided tape to secure the sunroof. The vehicle was taken to local dealer mac haik's southway Ford located at 7979 interstate 35 access rd, san antonio, tx 78224, were it was diagnosed. The contact was informed that the sunroof assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of failure. The failure mileage was 36,100.
The electric rear defroster on my 2018 F150 XLT crewcab purchased in 10/2018 stopped working for some reason. I took the vehicle to the dealer for repair and was told that the wires had become disconnected from the rear window glass for an unknown reason. The dealer "repaired" the defroster using epoxy to glue the wires onto the glass again. The vehicle had 13,542 miles on it. I picked up the vehicle from the dealer on 1/15/2020 at about 7pm. The next morning I drove the vehicle to work at 6am for a 24hr shift. I worked until 6am on 1/17/2020 and while I was driving home on a state road with the defroster on the entire rear window exploded suddenly with such force I thought someone had shot the vehicle. While looking for a place to pull over to find out what happened I smelled something burning. I looked in the rear view mirror and saw flames coming up from behind the rear seat back on the passenger side at the bottom of the window. I pulled over and called 911. The vehicle burned while waiting for the fd to respond. The vehicle was a total loss.
On 01/09/2020 I parked my 2018 Ford F 150 in a parking lot when we came back we heard a loud pop and without any influence from outside or inside the back window with the slider inside shattered. We drove to our Ford dealer and he told as that the glass broke without any impact from outside and he is happy that this has not have happened during driving because it could cause a dangerous situation. We contacted Ford directly who denied any responsibility even if their are multiple claims reported from other Ford F 150 drivers with the same model. The defroster for the window was used this morning because it was freezing and the window indicated that it broke because of to much heat and stress in the glass what is in my opinion a manufacturing defect and should be under warranty. I also believe that Ford should recall this cars because they are a danger to their driver and others on the road.
When it rains or when I clean my windshield. It does not leave a clean vision. And I have already changed the wiper blades 4 times. I have took it to the dealers and one of the service mans has the same problems with his new 2019 F150. I really think the wind shield needs to be changed out. I thought they were the blades.
When I closed the driver side door on my truck the entire rear window shattered. The outside temperature at the time was approximately 95 degrees F. the vehicle was stationary at the time.
