The contact discovered brake fluid was leaking from the vehicle, with the message "Low Brake Fluid" displayed. The vehicle was driven to the local mechanic, who diagnosed that the front passenger-??s side brake line had failed and needed to be replaced. The brake line was replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. The local dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 140,000.

The contact called the local dealer, who referred her to the manufacturer for assistance. The manufacturer was contacted, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 42,854.
