Truck was in Ford dealer 4 times over 9 months for fix to the transmission. Each time the chief complaint was a vehicle that would allow the transmission to stick between gears so acceleration would cease. It would also be put in reverse but the vehicle would not register that it was in reverse, hence not backing up. Vehicle not going forward or backward is a safety issue. Problem was reproduced by dealer each time. Ford Corporate was involved in trying to fix. No lights appeared on dash during any experience. Nothing done to the vehicle by Kernersville Ford or Ford Corporate worked to relieve the issues. Crossroads Ford, Kernersville NC. 336-996-3700 INVOICES [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Cam phasers, powertrain control module. While at a remote site, my engine started making a rattle when first started. Later at the remote site, the truck would not start until weather conditions improved. Upon returning home, I took the truck to my local Ford dealership where it was confirmed the cam phasers needed replacing and was done. I later found a Ford Customer Satisfaction Program notice [XXX], [XXX] and [XXX] I had received in October 2021. I had acted on that notice with the Ford Dealership in College Station, TX at the time and they said I did not need to do anything because I was not experiencing the problem at the time. The cam phasers are a known problem with this vehicle and should be recalled. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I purchased a 2019 Ford F-150 new from Muzi Ford in Needham Ma. Starting in the winter of 2021 with less than 35,000 miles the truck was sometimes slow in shifting through the gears, ( it is an automatic transmission ) it seemed as though it was slipping on ice. I assumed it was due to cold weather. The same situation occurred occasionally the following winter and seemed worse the colder it was. Several months ago it began to happen more frequently, and now it it has become constant and much worse. The truck stalls, revs up, slips into neutral, then suddenly lunges forward creating a very unpredictable and dangerous situation. It is now nearly impossible to operate this vehicle safely. I took the truck to Madden Ford in Norwood Ma on [XXX] of this year to have it looked at. I was told, much to my surprise that the transmission is beyond repair and would need to be replaced. They also told me that it was no longer covered under the warranty as the truck now has just over 60,000 miles. The cost quoted to replace the transmission is $ 9,877 plus tax. I was also told at the dealership that this is a common problem with this model and year and that it was too bad that I had not brought the truck in sooner as it would have been replaced at no cost to me. I have subsequently discovered that indeed this has been and continues to be an ongoing problem, and that Ford Motor Company knew of these transmission problems and yet continued to manufacture and sell them to unknowing customers. This has been very upsetting and disturbing. I do not have the nearly ten thousand dollars required to replace this and do not own another vehicle. I called the Ford customer service center on February the first and have had no response. I have also sent a letter to them explaining the situation and the dangerous operating condition of this vehicle and also have not had a response. I hope that someone will help with this serious problem before there is any fatal results. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION A

Sudden loss of power due to transmission issue at highway speeds. Ford had a waiting list for a replacements on the transmission and it was indicated by the dealer that they have many issues with this particular transmission and they were hoping ford would issue a recall. I needed the vehicle and had a rebuilt transmission (from Ford) which failed AGAIN under power at highway speeds causing sudden loss of power in traffic causing a very dangerous situation for all vehicles adjacent.

Transmission goes out of gear while accelerating, will stay out of gear for a few seconds, engine rev, then lurch forward when it goes into gear. Transmission will also have delayed shifting, for example will stay in second gear up to high RPM before upshifting (under slow acceleration), then slam into 4th gear.

Transmission has hard shifting in lower gears. It gets stuck in 4th gear and loses power. It also will lunge forward sometimes once it gets stuck in 4th gear. It puts mine and others safety in jeopardy because if it loses power on the road it might cause a acciden it might also cause one when it lunges forward. The problem seems to happen everyday I drive the vehicle. There has been no warning lights on the dash about this issue. Ford released a technical service bulletin about it but is should be a recall.

The variable camshaft timing (VCT) solenoid becomes gummed up, causing the engine to lag. Specifically after driving on the interstate or highway and then sitting at a red light. The VCT does not perform properly and the engine idle drops, causing the truck to stall and die at the light. Online forums show this to be a common problem for the past couple generations of this Ford 5.0 L motor and always seems to occur between 80,000 and 100,000 miles.
