The contact owns a 2007 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that air would not blow out from the vents when the air conditioner was activated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the contact was informed that the engine blower plug needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. Since I bought this car, streaks appear on the windows when you open and close them. I asked the dealer about this during an oil change and showed him first hand how the window was spotless and then I lowered it and raised it and it had vertical streaks from one side to the other. He told me he had heard this from other Fusion owners and unless Ford issued a recall that it could get costly to have it fixed. I avoid opening the windows because those streaks are distracting on sunny days and can give the appearance of something being there that isn't when turning your head to look or looking through the side mirrors. My dad just bought a Ford F-250 and his doesn't do this so maybe it's the parts that Ford uses on this vehicle that cause the problem.

I was driving on a East on a country road in the morning and the sun was in my eyes. I pushed the visor up against the windshield and it would not stay in place against the windshield. It returned to the vertical position, where it most obstructs visibility. Because of the position of the visor, I did not see a deer up ahead till the last minute, had to brake hard, and came very close to hitting the deer. These defective visors make driving extremely unsafe. I either have the sun in my eyes, or I have the visor severely obstructing my visibility.

The windshield wipers fail to clear the windshield during heavy rain resulting in a nearly complete loss of visibility. While driving South on a freeway at night, it suddenly began to rain heavily. I turned the wipers on to the highest speed available. I quickly lost visibility and could not determine where the edges of the road were. I released the accelerator and the car did not slow down. I applied the brakes lightly, and the tailgating tractor-trailer vehicle (18 wheeler) passed me and continued on at the speed limit of 70 mph. The spray from the truck made it impossible to see more than a few feet in front of me. Even after the truck was passed and I had slowed to the minimum speed of 45mph, I still could not find the edges of the road or see the lane markings. No setting of the headlights or fog lights helped. The amount of rain on the windshield is aggravated by the shape of the car, which directs the rain from the hood to the windshield and the long sloping windshield gathers more rain than older vehicles.

As I approached a green traffic, the sun was in my eyes, so I moved the sun visor down so the sun was blocked but I could still see the traffic light. When I let go of it, it would not stay up against the windshield and hung straight down, blocking the traffic light. If it had turned red, I never would have know it. I had to drive with one had holding up the visor and one hand on the steering wheel. When I took my car in to the dealership I told them that the visor has never stayed up except against the car ceiling and we both looked at a 2008 model, which works fine. He said that they could order a new visor, but the replacement would be identical, so it wouldn't do any good. I feel that it is too dangerous to drive with one hand on the wheel and the other hand either blocking the sun or holding the visor up.
