Notes: Ford significantly updated the Fusion for the 2010 model year. We wish they hadn't

Throttle body issues have led to a ton of reports about a sudden deceleration and loss of power while driving. Ford issued a “customer satisfaction program” in March 2014 that, unsurprisingly, has left very few customers satisfied.

2010 is also the year we started seeing complaints about the power steering failing. Throttle and steering failure? Yeah, that’s why this is a clunker.

The inside door handle has a cable attachment to it, when you pull the door handle it moves the lock and the door opens. Today, mine broke. The reason for contacting you, I called the Ford location to check for repair, the parts man told me that this door handle problem was the no 1 problem for Ford motor cars. Seems to me that they would address the problem, would you think that $150 cost for replacement might be the reason? sounds like add on sales, does not sound right, but the numbers are millions.

The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. While attempting to exit the vehicle, the interior front driver side door latch fractured and failed to open the door. The contact had to roll the window down and open the door using the exterior door latch. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The contact purchased and installed a new door latch; however, the failure recurred two years later on the same interior door latch. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 65,000.

I was a passenger in a 2010 Ford Fusion and was in the front passenger seat and another person was in the right rear passenger seat. I was exiting the car and because the door had opened to far, I used my hands to pull myself out of the car. At the same time, the passenger in the right rear seat was in the process of opening their door and exiting. Due to the close proximity of their door edge (approximately 1/16 inch) and the car itself, a finger tip on my right hand was completely amputated when the door was opened. I was taken by ambulance to hospital where surgery was performed.
