CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2011 Fusion builds off the 2010's reputation. That's not a good thing.

The first thing that jumps out is the ridiculous amount of power steering complaints. It grinds, it squeals, and it eventually just fails.

And if losing power steering isn’t enough for you, how about a sudden loss of engine power? That combination is enough to achieve clunker status.

At 138825 miles, the engine began to have a misfire on cylinder #4, which was initially a vacuum hose leak. Then, the car starts having an "earthquake" whenever the car is stopped at a red light. The cause would then be an egr malfunction. As time went by, the misfire on cylinder 4 shows up again. Took my car to the shop to have the issue looked at, found to be a cross threaded spark plug, and they recommended the cylinder head be replaced, the engine assembly replaced, the coolant being replaced, and the ac being recharged. Repair would've cost $10,500.

After having the takata airbag recall taken care of by franklin Ford Lincoln the engine oil light was on and the battery kept draining and had to be replaced today. Ford claims that they did nothing incorrect in the recall but prior to taking my car to Ford the battery and 02 sensor were in fine working order. After the recall they were not. After replacing the battery today the car still hesitates to start and the ac system keeps making a clicking noise. This was not happening before the recall was performed. I don't think that my car will ever be the same and it is all due to Ford Lincoln of franklin replacing the airbags.

Failure of the throttle body and motor assy. T\internal fault code P2112 caused the power on car to go to limp mode. This created a dangerous situation at highway speeds. The item has been flagged in February 21, 2013 NHTSA action number: Pe13003electronic throttle body malfunction NHTSA action number: PE13003 Ford has failed to correct the issue on my vehicle. This occurred 17 Aug 2020. The vehicle was at 152,000 miles and had been serviced regular by Ford since purchase in 2011. This issue should have never occurred. I had stopped at a light and made a right turn on to expressway in rush hour traffic. With no acceleration this became a dangerous situation very quickly. I expected to accelerate to 45mph but could barley creep to 20 mph max.

To whom it concerns, well first of all I purchase a vehicle from, I don't have the title, so the bank and the dealership got that stuff. Next they think they can be rude, lie, and play games, thirdly they said I wrecked when it came off the lot on condition as it was in, but no way. Fourthly, they wand to lie and say 2 different store just like the bank does, I've had to put almost a 1000 bucks into the vehicle, and I'm upside down in it, I told the bank this, and the bank said they be contacting the dealership, never happened I asked to take the 1000 bucks off my loan for these services but won't, this why I'm reporting them, next the bank can never decide if they want insurance on the vehicle been harassed by both the dealership and bank, which is first premier bank and frankman motors sioux falls, sd, plus I was suppose to receive a manual for my car never happened, so something needs to be done, if both places of business's want me to be nice, they got to earn it, and do something about this lemon vehicle

My vehicle was moving in a parking lot when the engine suddenly began to misfire and stalled. The Ford dealership told me the engine suffered a catastrophic failure. This happened without warning. All maintenance was preformed on time or ahead of schedule. This catastrophic failure happened with less than 100,000 miles. Ford would not cover this under warranty. From what research I have found this is a common problem with Ford 3.5 liter cyclone engines. The water pump failes resulting in catastrophic engine failure. If this problem would occur at highway speeds no power steering or brakes would be operable, possibly resulting in accidents. This is an unacceptable situation!, not to mention a costly repair bill. Thank you for your consideration on this matter

Car just stops while driving. Happened 5 times in the last 5 months. Most recent incident was 10/04/2017. Thought that this problem was related to my power steering assembly that was replaced last week, but apparently this is a different problem altogether. Driving 50 mph on a single lane road and car just stops. Turned key to off, restarted, drove about 2 miles, stopped at a stop sign, and car lost power. Again turned key to off, turned back on and car was driveable. Happened twice in may, same scenario, driving about 45-50 mph, car just stopped, drove about 1 mi., stopped at a traffic light and car just shut off. In early September, happened on deceleration approaching a stop light.
