CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013 Fusion doesn’t have the same track record of power steering failure as the previous 3 model years. Of course, those owners said their steering failed at 60k–100k miles. So this appears to be a classic "wait and see" scenario.

In the meantime, there’s plenty of interior accessory problems to complain about. By themselves, each is a barely a blip on the radar. But combined, they give you that feeling of what the hell have I gotten myself into?

One of my doors wouldn't shut. The door latch was stuck. Took to garage and they fixed by pulling handle and getting mechanic to go back in. I heard there may be a recall on these latches. The car was stationary.

Yesterday, driving on a freeway access road, the front passenger door opened. After stopping, found door will not latch closed. Tonight the wife was cleaning her stuff from the car so I can take it to the dealer tomorrow and now the rear passenger door has the same problem. Will not latch closed. Being the wife's car, the passenger side doors get very little use.

The front passenger door opened and would not close. The plastic latch assembly failed to secure the front passenger door. The dealership service department was contacted immediately. Advised by service manager to wrap seat belt around handle of door and fasten to secure door in order to drive the vehicle to the dealership to address issue. The dealership service department note describes the issue as an "insufficient latch". the cause noted in the service departments review was that the latch assembly "does not operate properly". the corrective action documented and completed by the dealership service department was to remove and replace the front passenger door latch assembly (part # fmc be8Z 5421812 B / note: Insf description: Latch).
