The front passenger car door will not lock in place the latch seems to be broke and nothing was done to it out of the norm so I have no clue why but it is a safety hazard because I can't drive with the passenger side door opening and closing as I blow through the wind the vehicle was stationary when the door would not close I was at a 7 eleven parked when my friend came back to the car it would not stay closed.

I have a 2014 Ford Fusion with 38,000 miles on it. The driver's door won't close. There's a safety recall (15S16) on this issue. I took the car to surprise Ford (with the door roped shut), and they told me that the recall doesn't cover my VIN. They told me to open a case with Ford, so I did cas[xxx]. Ford told me the same thing. How can they not cover my VIN (and others like mine) if my vehicle is experiencing the issue" I think coverage of this will force Ford to do the right thing and expand their recall before someone gets hurt. What if the door flew open in traffic" contact stated driver' front latch was replaced. The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. While driving at 15 mph, the front driver side door independently opened. As a result, the contact's door slammed into the driver side door of another vehicle. No injuries were sustained. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the quarter panel on the outer part of the door and the front driver side door latch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer who confirmed that the quarter panel and all the latches on all the doors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the parts not being available. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 14,000.
