The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to the tim short Ford dealer, located on 107 rockwood ln, hazard, ky 41701, where it was diagnosed that the wiring underneath the seat was fractured and caused the air bag system to deactivate. The wiring harness needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 16V875000 (seat belts). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 62,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. After parking the vehicle, it caught on fire without warning. The contact noticed flames and smoke after the door was opened. The seat was burned. The fire extinguished on its own. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. The technician diagnosed that the fire was due to an outside source; however, the police report and insurance company diagnosed that the failure was caused by faulty wiring. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. A police report was filed. The failure mileage was 141,000.
