While driving a knocking noise was heard coming from the rear of the vehicle. The driver took the vehicle to dealer for analysis and the mecahnic indicated that the rear end was bad. (bearing ring pinion gear) the consumer was told by the mechanic that this was a common problem with theses vehicles.

Rear end makes a loud howling noise that sounds like wind noise. Can only hear it when coasting between 60 and 35 mph, only in 3.8 engine vehicle.

Car since new has had a multitude of failures to include the total failure of the parking brake, total evacuation of the master brake cylinder of fluid, brake go to the floor, clutch assembly vibrates to the point it is audable in the car and can be felt in the controls, rear end claunks, the body is miss alligned, engine misses at idle, these are all problems since new, Ford has just looked at the car for the fifth time and has failed to respond to major safety items.
