This is the second time this has happened. Upon starting the car, the motor revs uncontrolled to about 7000 rpms. I have to turn ignition off to stop the motor from damaging its self. If my foot was to ever slip off the clutch, we would race uncontrolled in reverse! the car is always parked and started while in reverse. Almost afraid to start this car.

When downshifting in the manual transmission version of this vehicle, the car doesn't slow down on any decline and instead accelerates (without touching the gas pedal). Also, while slowing down on a flat road (at 1,500 to 1,700rpm) the car accelerates by itself and fights the brakes while in gear.

When brakes were applied to disengage cruise control, brakes acted as if they had lost power, and cruise control failed to disengage. This has subsequently occurred four more times, most recently in early October.

2014 Ford Mustang. Consumer writes in regards to engine problems. The consumer stated she heard a ticking sound, after driving for 15 minutes. The dealer stated the entire long block needed to be replaced. After the long block was replaced, the engine light started flashing, and the engine was revving higher than normal. The vehicle accelerating by itself in gear and there were pressure issues with the brake pedal. The dealer was unable to replicate the consumers concern. The next time the consumer returned to the dealer, the ignition was replaced. The RPM's continued to rev, idle was very rough, even with the ac off. The ticking noise was still present, and the brake pedal was hard to the touch.

From day 1 until present with 6400 miles, this car on hard acceleration, brings in exhaust fumes so severe that the fumes will make you physically sick and will even set off a carbon dioxide detector ( this happens with all windows shut and the air on recirculate). Normal driving, no problem if engine rpms are kept below 1500 RPM --- but---- don`T try to get up to speed merging on a freeway or any high revving situation. Ford dealer won`T do anything until it throws a computer code, which it has not. Ford customer service is a joke after spending hours on the phone. I think I bought a modern Yugo.
